حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِى مُزَاحِمٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ - قَالَ مَنْصُورٌ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِىِّ وَقَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « كَانَ رَجُلٌ يُدَايِنُ النَّاسَ فَكَانَ يَقُولُ لِفَتَاهُ إِذَا أَتَيْتَ مُعْسِرًا فَتَجَاوَزْ عَنْهُ لَعَلَّ اللَّهَ يَتَجَاوَزُ عَنَّا. فَلَقِىَ اللَّهَ فَتَجَاوَزَ عَنْهُ ».
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "A man used to lend money to the people, and he used to say to his slaves: 'If you come to one who is in difficulty, let him go; perhaps Allah will let us go. When he met Allah, He let him go."'
