حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ وَقُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَعَلِىُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ - وَهُوَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ - عَنْ عَمْرٍو - وَهْوَ ابْنُ أَبِى عَمْرٍو - عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِىَّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قَالَ « إِنَّ النَّذْرَ لاَ يُقَرِّبُ مِنِ ابْنِ آدَمَ شَيْئًا لَمْ يَكُنِ اللَّهُ قَدَّرَهُ لَهُ وَلَكِنِ النَّذْرُ يُوَافِقُ الْقَدَرَ فَيُخْرَجُ بِذَلِكَ مِنَ الْبَخِيلِ مَا لَمْ يَكُنِ الْبَخِيلُ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُخْرِجَ ».
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (s.a.w) said: "A vow does not bring closer to the son of Adam something that Allah has not decreed for him, but a vow sometimes coincides with the Divine Decree. And thus it gets from a miser something that the miser did not want to give."
