وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ لَمَّا قَفَلَ النَّبِىُّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- مِنْ حُنَيْنٍ سَأَلَ عُمَرُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- عَنْ نَذْرٍ كَانَ نَذَرَهُ فِى الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ اعْتِكَافِ يَوْمٍ. ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِ جَرِيرِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ.
It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: "When the Prophet (s.a.w) came back from Hunain, 'Umar asked the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) about a vow that he had made during the Jahiliyyah, to observe l'tikaf for one day.'' Then he mentioned a Hadith like that of Jarir bin Hazim (no. 4294).
