Sahih Muslim Book - 3, Hadith - 783
و حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَأَبُو غَسَّانَ الْمِسْمَعِيُّ ح و حَدَّثَنَاه مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَمَطَرٌ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا جَلَسَ بَيْنَ شُعَبِهَا الْأَرْبَعِ ثُمَّ جَهَدَهَا فَقَدْ وَجَبَ عَلَيْهِ الْغُسْلُ وَفِي حَدِيثِ مَطَرٍ وَإِنْ لَمْ يُنْزِلْ. قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ مِنْ بَيْنِهِمْ: بَيْنَ أَشْعُبِهَا الْأَرْبَعِ.
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet of Allah (s.a.w) said: "When a man sits between the four parts and toils with her, then Ghusl is obligatory." According to the Hadith of Matar: "Even if he does not ejaculate."
