‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin Al-‘As narrated that a group from Banu Hashim entered upon Asma’ bint ‘Umais, then Abu Bakr As-Siddiq came in. She was married to him at that time, and he saw them there and disliked that. He mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) and said: “I know nothing but good (about my wife).” The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: “Allah protected her from that.” Then the Messenger of Allah stood on the Minbar and said: “After this day, no man should enter upon a woman, whose husband is absent, unless there are one or two other men with him.”
