وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ (ح) وَحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، أَنَّ أَبَا لُبَابَةَ ، كَلَّمَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ لِيَفْتَحَ لَهُ بَابًا فِي دَارِهِ ، يَسْتَقْرِبُ بِهِ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَوَجَدَ الْغِلْمَةُ جِلْدَ جَانٍّ ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ : الْتَمِسُوهُ فَاقْتُلُوهُ ، فَقَالَ أَبُو لُبَابَةَ : لاَ تَقْتُلُوهُ ، فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ قَتْلِ الْجِنَّانِ الَّتِي فِي الْبُيُوتِ.
It was narrated from Nafi that Abu Lubabah spoke to Ibn ‘Umar telling him to create a door in his house, so that they would have easier access to the Masjid, The laborers found the skin of a small snake, and ‘Abdullah said: “Find it and kill it.” Abu Lubabah said: “Do not kill it, for the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) forbade killing the small snake that live in houses.”
