It was narrated that Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri said: "While we were traveling with the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) in Al-'Arj, we were met by a poet who was reciting poetry. The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'Catch the devil' - or: 'restrain the devil' - 'If the belly of man were to be filled with pus, that would be better for him than being filled with poetry."'
