وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَحْسَنُ أَثَـٰثًا وَرِءْيًا Qur’an Maryam (19:74)

Wakam ahlakn a qablahum min qarnin hum a h sanu ath a than wariy a n

And yet, how many a generation have We destroyed before their time - [people] who surpassed them in material power⁶⁰ and in outward show!
