وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَآءِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَأَتْرَفْنَـٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا مَا هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يَأْكُلُ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْهُ وَيَشْرَبُ مِمَّا تَشْرَبُونَ Qur’an Al-Muminun (23:33)

Waq a la almalao min qawmihi alla th eena kafaroo waka thth aboo biliq a i al a khirati waatrafn a hum fee al h ay a ti a l dduny a m a h atha ill a basharun mithlukum yakulu mimm a takuloona minhu wayashrabu mimm a tashraboon a

And [every time] the great ones among his people, who refused to acknowledge the truth and gave the lie to the announcement of a life to come-[simply] because We had granted them ease and plenty in [their] worldly life, and they had become corrupted by it¹⁸ - [every time] they would say: "This [man] is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat, and drinking of what you drink:

But the chiefs of his people - who disbelieved the message and denied the life in the hereafter, - on whom We had bestowed affluence in this worldly life, said: "This person is but a human like you; he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink.

But the chiefs of his people- who disbelieved, denied the meeting 'with Allah' in the Hereafter, and were spoiled by the worldly luxuries We had provided for them- said 'to the masses', 'This is only a human like you. He eats what you eat, and drinks what you drink.

And the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and whom We had made soft in the life of the world, said: This is only a mortal like you, who eateth of that whereof ye eat and drinketh of that ye drink.
