Surah 3. Aal-Imran, Ayah 11
كَدَأْبِ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ Qur’an Aal-Imran (3:11)Kadabi a li firAAawna wa a lla th eena min qablihim ka thth aboo bi a y a tin a faakha th ahumu All a hu bi th unoobihim wa A ll a hu shadeedu alAAiq a b i
[To them shall happen] the like of what happened to Pharaoh's people and those who lived before them: they gave the lie to Our messages - and so God took them to task for their sins: for God is severe in retribution.

Mohammad AsadTheir end will be the same as that of the people of Fir'on (Pharaoh) and their predecessors who denied Our revelations, so Allah called them to account for their sins. Allah is strict in retribution.
