Surah 63. Al-Munafiqun, Ayah 5

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا۟ يَسْتَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ لَوَّوْا۟ رُءُوسَهُمْ وَرَأَيْتَهُمْ يَصُدُّونَ وَهُم مُّسْتَكْبِرُونَ Qur’an Al-Munafiqun (63:5)
Wai tha qeela lahum taAA a law yastaghfir lakum rasoolu All a hi lawwaw ruoosahum waraaytahum ya s uddoona wahum mustakbiroon a
for, when they are told, "Come, the Apostle of God will pray [unto God] that you be forgiven", they turn their heads away, and thou canst see how they draw back in their false pride.

When it is said to them: "Come, the Rasool of Allah will pray for your forgiveness," they shake their heads and you see them turning away with arrogance.

When it is said to them, 'Come! The Messenger of Allah will pray for you to be forgiven,' they turn their heads 'in disgust', and you see them 'O Prophet' turn away in arrogance.

And when it is said unto them: Come! The messenger of Allah will ask forgiveness for you! they avert their faces and thou seest them turning away, disdainful.

Even hypocrisy like other sins can be forgiven by repentance and amendment, provided there is a will and earnest desire to turn from evil and seek the Grace of Allah. In this case there was none.
