Surah 7. Al-A'raf, Ayah 168
وَقَطَّعْنَـٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أُمَمًا ۖ مِّنْهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ وَمِنْهُمْ دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَبَلَوْنَـٰهُم بِٱلْحَسَنَـٰتِ وَٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ Qur’an Al-A'raf (7:168)Waqa tt aAAn a hum fee alar d i omaman minhumu a l ssa li h oona waminhum doona tha lika wabalawn a hum bi a l h asan a ti wa al ssayyi a ti laAAallahum yarjiAAoon a
And We dispersed them as [separate] communities all over the earth; some of them were righteous, and some of them less than that: and the latter We tried with blessings as well as with afflictions, so that they might mend their ways.134
