100:6
Inna alins a na lirabbihi lakanood un
VERILY, towards his Sustainer man is most ungrateful3
  - Mohammad Asad

I.e., whenever he surrenders to his appetites, symbolised by the madly storming chargers, he forgets God and his own responsibility to Him.

Surely man is ungrateful to his Rabb;
  - Muhammad Farooq-i-Azam Malik
Surely humankind is ungrateful to their Lord-
  - Mustafa Khattab
Lo! man is an ingrate unto his Lord
  - Marmaduke Pickthall
Truly Man is to his Lord ungrateful; 6246
  - Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Man, i.e., unregenerate man, in contrast to those who receive guidance and wage unceasing war with Evil, is ungrateful to his Lord and Cherisher, Him Who created him and sustains him, and sends His blessings and favours at all times. The ingratitude may be shown by thoughts, words, and deeds,-by forgetting or denying Allah and His goodness, by misusing His gifts, or by injustice to His creatures.

Wainnahu AAal a tha lika lashaheed un
and to this, behold, he [himself] bears witness indeed:
  - Mohammad Asad
and surely he himself bears witness to it,
  - Muhammad Farooq-i-Azam Malik
and they certainly attest to this-
  - Mustafa Khattab
And lo! he is a witness unto that;
  - Marmaduke Pickthall
And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds); 6247
  - Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Man himself, by his conduct, proves the charge of treason against himself.

100:8
Wainnahu li h ubbi alkhayri lashadeed un
for, verily, to the love of wealth is he most ardently devoted.
  - Mohammad Asad
and surely he is violent in his love of this worldly wealth.
  - Muhammad Farooq-i-Azam Malik
and they are truly extreme in their love of 'worldly' gains.
  - Mustafa Khattab
And lo! in the love of wealth he is violent.
  - Marmaduke Pickthall
And violent is he in his love of wealth. 6248
  - Abdullah Yusuf Ali

What an evil choice he makes in committing treason against his own Benefactor by going after the petty baubles of this world's wealth of fleeting gains?

100:9
Afal a yaAAlamu i tha buAAthira m a fee alquboor i
But does he not know that [on the Last Day,] when all that is in the graves is raised and brought out,
  - Mohammad Asad
Is he not aware that when those who lie in the graves will be raised to life,
  - Muhammad Farooq-i-Azam Malik
Do they not know that when the contents of the graves will be spilled out,
  - Mustafa Khattab
Knoweth he not that, when the contents of the graves are poured forth
  - Marmaduke Pickthall
Does he not know when that which is in the graves is Scattered abroad 6249
  - Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Dead bodies, secret plots, evil thoughts and imaginings, long since buried, will yet stand forth before the Judgment-seat of Allah. Instead of being closely hidden or blotted out-as they will have been from the consciousness of mankind,-they will stand out as from the consciousness of Allah, which is all-embracing and never suffers from sleep or fatigue.

Wa h u ss ila m a fee a l ss udoor i
and all that is [hidden] in men's hearts is bared -
  - Mohammad Asad
and that what is in their breasts will be made known,
  - Muhammad Farooq-i-Azam Malik
and the secrets of the hearts will be laid bare-
  - Mustafa Khattab
And the secrets of the breasts are made known.
  - Marmaduke Pickthall
And that which is (locked up) in (human) breasts is made manifest
  - Abdullah Yusuf Ali

100:11
Inna rabbahum bihim yawmai th in lakhabeer un
that on that Day their Sustainer [will show that He] has always been fully aware of them?
  - Mohammad Asad
surely their Rabb on that Day shall have full knowledge about them.
  - Muhammad Farooq-i-Azam Malik
surely their Lord is All-Aware of them on that Day.
  - Mustafa Khattab
On that day will their Lord be perfectly informed concerning them.
  - Marmaduke Pickthall
That their Lord had been well-acquainted with them (Even to) that Day? 6250
  - Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Allah's knowledge is full and vigilant at all times. But on that day it will reveal to men secrets which they had long forgotten, for the Book of their Deeds will be made manifest at Judgment.
