Holy Qur'an
Al-Qur'an
Kids Qur'an
Do not consider the summoning of the Rasool in the same manner,as you consider the summoning of one another among yourselves.Allah knows those of you who slip away, concealing themselvesbehind others. Let those who disobey his orders beware, lest sometrial befall them or a painful punishment be inflicted on them.
By the sun and its brightness;
He is the One Who gave the sun its brightness and the moon itslight, established her phases that you may learn to compute theyears and other such counts (days, weeks, months). Allah createdthem only to manifest the truth. He has spelled out Hisrevelations for people who want to understand.
Do you not see that Allah causes the night to pass into the dayand the day into the night, that He has subjected the sun and themoon to follow His law, each pursuing its course for an appointedterm, and that Allah is well aware of all your actions?
Among His signs are the night and the day and the sun and moon.Do not prostrate yourselves before the sun or the moon; ratherprostrate yourselves before Allah, Who created them both, if youtruly are His worshippers.
So if the unbelievers disdain His worship, let them remember thatthe angels who are nearest to your Rabb, glorify Him day andnight and never feel tired.
The sun runs its course, this course is pre-estimated for it bythe Almighty, the All-Knowing.
As for the moon, We have designed phases for it till it againbecomes like an old dry palm branch.
Neither it is possible for the sun to overtake the moon, nor forthe night to outstrip the day: each floats along in its ownorbit.
He has subjected to your service the night and the day, the sunand the moon: and likewise the stars also serve you by Hiscommand: surely there are signs in this for people who use theircommon sense.
Therefore be patient with what they say. Glorify your Rabb withHis praise before sunrise and before sunset, glorify Him duringthe hours of the night as well as at the ends of the day, so thatyou may find satisfaction.
Therefore, O Prophet, bear with them in patience whatever theysay, and keep on glorifying your Rabb before sunrise and beforesunset.
When Our Clear Revelations are recited to them the unbelieverssay to the believer: "Which one, of the two of us, have finedwelling and better companions?"
Don't they see, how many generations have We destroyed beforethem, who were far greater in riches and in splendor?
Tell them: "Anyone who has gone astray, the Compassionate (Allah)prolongs his respite and extends an opportunity until they seeabout which they were warned; - be it a worldly scourge or theHour of Doom - then they will realize whose is the worst dwellingand whose are the weak companions?
He is the One Who has made you the inheritors of the earth andraised some of you in ranks over others so that He may test youin what He has given you. Surely your Rabb is swift inretribution; yet He is also very Forgiving, Merciful."
Is it they who distribute the blessings of your Rabb? It is WeWho distribute the means of their livelihood in the life of thisworld, raising some in rank above others, so that one may takeothers into his service. But the blessing of your Rabb is fargreater in value than the wealth of this world which they amass.
O believers! Intoxicants and gambling (games of chance),dedication to stones (paying tribute to idols) and division byarrows (lottery) are the filthy works of Shaitan. Get away fromthem, so that you may prosper.
Shaitan desires to stir up enmity and hatred between you withintoxicants and gambling and to prevent you from the remembranceof Allah and from Salah (prayers). Will you not abstain?
Obey Allah and obey the Rasool and abstain from these things. Ifyou do not, then you should know that Our Rasool's duty is onlyto pass on My message clearly.
There is no blame on those who believe and do good deeds for whatthey ate in the past, provided they abstain from those thingswhich have been made unlawful, then remain steadfast in theirbelief and do righteous deeds, then abstain themselves fromwhatever they are forbidden and believe in Divine Law, and thenfear Allah and do good deeds. For Allah loves those who do gooddeeds.
O believers! Allah will put you to trial by making game (thatwhich is to be hunted) well within the reach of your hands andyour spears, in order to see who fears Him, though unseen. Thereshall, therefore, be a painful punishment for those whotransgress after this warning.
O believers! Do not kill game while you are in Ihram (pilgrimgarb). If anyone kills game intentionally, he will have to pay apenalty through an offering brought to the Ka'bah of a domesticanimal equivalent to the one which was killed as determined bytwo just men among you; or as an expiation, either feed a fewindigent or fast their equivalent days, so that he may taste theevil consequences of what he did. Allah has forgiven whathappened in the past; but if anyone repeats it now, Allah willinflict retribution on him. Allah is Mighty, Capable ofRetribution.
Game of the sea and its use as food is lawful for you and theseafarers, but the game of the land is forbidden as long as youare in Ihram (pilgrim garb). Have fear of Allah to whom you shallall be assembled.
Allah has made the Ka'bah of the Sacred House an eternal valuefor mankind, and so are the Sacred Months, the animal offerings, and the animals which are collared as a mark of dedication; soyou must know that Allah has knowledge of what is in the heavensand in the earth and that Allah is well aware of everything.
You should also know that Allah is stern in Retribution, and thatAllah is Forgiving, Merciful.
The only duty of the Rasool is to pass on My Message. Allah knowsall what you reveal and what you conceal.
Tell them, "Bad and good are not equal, even though the abundanceof the bad may dazzle you; so fear Allah, O people ofunderstanding, that you may prosper!"
O believers! Do not ask questions about things that if revealedto you, may cause you trouble. But if you ask a question aboutsomething when the Qur'an is being revealed, it will be madeknown to you. Allah has forgiven you what you did to date, Allahis Forgiving, Forbearing.
Some people before you did ask such questions and later losttheir faith because of those very things.
Allah did not institute superstitions like those of a slit-earshe-camel or a she-camel let loose for free pasture or idolsacrifices for twin-births in animals or stallion-camels freedfrom work; this lie is invented by the unbelievers against Allah, and most of them lack understanding.
O believers! When death approaches any one of you, let two justmen from among yourselves act as witnesses at the time of makingyour last will; or from the non-Muslims if you are travellingthrough the land and the calamity of death overtakes you. If youdoubt their honesty, detain them after prayer and let them bothswear by Allah: "We will not sell our testimony for any price, even to a relative, and we will not hide the testimony which wewill be giving for the sake of Allah; for we shall be sinners ifwe do so."
These mushrikin say that such and such cattle and crops arereserved, in the name of such and such temple, and no one shouldeat except those whom we permit - in fact these restrictions theythemselves have imposed. Then there are some animals which theyhave prohibited from riding or carrying loads, and there arestill other animals over which they do not pronounce the name ofAllah. They have falsely attributed all these things to Him. SoonHe will requite them for their invented lies.
For eight heads of cattle, male and female, there aresuperstitions. Take a pair of sheep and a pair of goats, forexample, and ask them, "Of these, has He forbidden you the males, females or their fetuses? Answer me based on knowledge, notsuperstition, if what you say is true."
You (O Muhammad) never expected that the Book would be revealedto you. Only through your Rabb's mercy has it been revealed toyou: therefore do not be a helper in any way to the unbelievers.
Allah will do away from their account their worst deeds andreward them according to their best deeds.
And the one who comes with the truth and the one who confirms it- surely are the Godfearing.
They shall have from their Rabb all that they wish for. Thusshall the righteous be rewarded.
Allah will do away from their account their worst deeds andreward them according to their best deeds.
Whenever a Surah is revealed, some of them ask: "Whose faith fromamong you has increased by this?" Certainly the faith of thebelievers is increased and they do rejoice.
O believers! Avoid immoderate suspicion, for in some casessuspicion is a sin. Do not spy on one another, nor backbite oneanother (to say something about another behind ones back that ifone hears it, dislikes it). Would any of you like to eat theflesh of his dead brother? Surely you would abhor it. Fear Allah;for Allah is the Accepter of repentance, Merciful.
The sentence will be: "Throw into hell every stubborndisbeliever,
every opponent of good, and every doubting transgressor
who set up other gods besides Allah. Throw him into severepunishment."
His companion will say: "Our Rabb! I did not mislead him. Hehimself had gone far astray."
Allah will say: "Do not dispute with each other in My presence. Igave you warning beforehand.
My words cannot be changed, nor am I unjust to My servants."
O Prophet, ask them: "Have you ever considered that out of thesustenance which Allah has given you, you yourselves have madesome things Halal (lawful) and others Haram (unlawful)? Ask them:"Did Allah permit you to do so, or do you ascribe a false thingto Allah?"
They worship those deities other than Allah, who neither providethem anything for sustenance from the heavens or the earth, norhave any power to do so?
I require no sustenance from them, nor do I ask that they shouldfeed Me.
But when He tries him through restricting his subsistence, hesays: "My Rabb has humiliated me."
Do they not see that it is Allah Who gives abundantly to whom Hepleases and sparingly to whom He wills? Surely there are signs inthis example for those who believe.
Do they not know that Allah enlarges the provision for whom Hepleases and restricts it from whom He wills? Surely there aresigns in this for those who believe.
It is Allah Who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop,then He made you pairs. No female conceives or delivers withoutHis knowledge. No long-lived man grows old or has his life cutshort but is written in a Book; surely all this is easy forAllah.
O Prophet, ask them: "Who provides your sustenance from theheavens and the earth?" If they do not answer, then say: "It isAllah! Certainly one of us; either we or you are rightly guidedor in manifest error."
O mankind! Call to mind the favors of Allah on you; is there anyother creator than Allah who provides for you from the heavensand the earth? There is no god but Him. How then are you beingdeceived?
In heaven is your sustenance and all that you are promised.
I swear by the Rabb of heaven and earth that this is true, ascertain as you are speaking now!
Say: "O Allah! Master of all the Kingship, You give the kingdomto whom You please and take away the kingdom from whomsoever Youplease; You give honor to whom You please and disgrace to whomYou please; all the good is in Your hand; surely You have powerover everything.
You cause the night to pass into the day and You cause the day topass into the night; You draw the living from the dead and Youdraw the dead from the living; and You provide sustenance foranyone You wish without measure."
and in the alternation of night and day, in the sustenance thatAllah sends down from heaven with which He revives the earthafter its death and in the changing of the winds, there are signsfor those who use their common sense.
They set aside a portion of what We have provided them with, forthose deities about whom they know nothing. By Allah! You shallmost certainly be questioned about the lies you fabricate.
It is He Who has made the earth subservient to you, to walkthrough its tracts and eat of His provided sustenance. To Him isthe return at resurrection.
Surely those who swore allegiance to you O Prophet, indeed sworeallegiance to Allah Himself. The Hand of Allah was above theirhands. Now, the one who will break his pledge, will break it athis own peril, and the one who will keep his pledge that he hasmade with Allah, shall soon be given a great rewarded by Him.
Have you not seen the ones who have befriended those people whoare under the wrath of Allah? They are neither on your side noryet on theirs and they knowingly swear to falsehood.
Allah has prepared for them a severe punishment; evil indeed iswhat they are doing.
They use their oaths as shields, and debar others from the Way ofAllah. They shall have a humiliating punishment.
Neither their riches nor their sons shall avail them anythingagainst Allah. They shall be the inmates of hell and live thereforever.
On the Day when Allah will raise them all to life, they willswear to Him as they now swear to you, thinking that their oathswill help them. By no means! Surely they are the liars.
Shaitan has gained possession of them, and caused them to forgetAllah's warning. They are the party of shaitan. Beware! Surely itis the party of shaitan that shall be the loser.
Neither can you frustrate Him in the earth or in the Heaven; norhave you any protector or helper besides Allah."
He has forbidden you to eat dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which any name other than Allah has been invoked; butif someone is compelled by absolute necessity, intending neitherto sin nor to transgress, he shall incur no sin. Surely Allah isForgiving, Merciful.
You are forbidden to eat the meat of any animal that dies byitself (dead body), blood, the flesh of swine (pork) and that onwhich any name other than Allah has been invoked; also that whichis strangled to death , killed by a violent blow, killed by aheadlong fall and of those beaten or gored to death; and thatwhich has been partly eaten by a wild animal unless you are ableto slaughter it before its death; also that which is sacrificedon altars or is divided by raffling of arrows. All these aresinful acts. Today the unbelievers have given up all their hopeof vanquishing your religion. Have no fear of them, fear Me.Today I have perfected your religion for you, completed my favorupon you and approved Al-Islam as a Deen (way of life for you).Anyone who is compelled by hunger to eat what is forbidden, notintending to commit sin, will find Allah Forgiving, Merciful.
O Muhammad tell them: I did not find in what has been revealed tome anything forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it,except the meat of an already dead animal, or running blood orthe flesh of swine (pork) - for these are unclean - or flesh ofan animal which has become profane because of slaughtering in thenames other than Allah. Even so, if anyone is forced in ahelpless situation, intending neither disobedience nortransgression, you will find your Rabb Forgiving, Merciful.
He has only forbidden you to eat carrion (meat of dead a body),blood, pork, and that over which any name other than Allah hasbeen invoked. But if one is forced by necessity, intendingneither to break the Divine Law nor to transgress limits, thensurely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
and make a proclamation of Hajj (Pilgrimage) to mankind: theywill come to you on foot and on lean camels from every distantquarter,
so that they may witness the benefits which are made availablehere for them, and pronounce the name of Allah over the cattlewhich We have provided as food for them, on the appointed days, then eat meat themselves and feed the indigent and needy.
Then they should accomplish their needful acts of shaving orcutting their hair and taking a bath, fulfill their vows and gofor Tawaf-e-Ziyarah to the Ancient House.
This was the object for which the Ka'bah was built, and whoeverhonors the sacred rites of Allah, it is good for him in the sightof his Rabb. The meat of cattle is lawful to you, except what hasalready been mentioned to you; therefore, shun the abomination ofidols and shun all false statements.
Dedicate yourselves to Allah and do not commit shirk with Him:for anyone who commits shirk, it is as though he had fallen fromthe sky; then his body is either snatched away by birds orcarried away by the wind to some far-off place,
so it is, and he who respects the Symbols of Allah, surely showsthe piety of his heart.
O believers! Do not violate the sanctity of the Symbols of Allah:the Sacred Month , the animals brought for sacrifice, thegarlands that mark such animals, and those people visiting theSacred House (Ka'bah) to seek the grace and good pleasure oftheir Rabb. When you put off your Ihram (pilgrimage is over) thenyou are allowed to hunt. Let not the hatred of some people - whoonce hindered you from the Sacred Mosque - incite you to committransgression. Cooperate with one another in righteousness andpiety, and do not cooperate in sin and transgression. Have fearof Allah. Allah is stern in punishment.
