It was narrated that 'Abdur-Rahman bin Samurah, who was one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w), said: "I was shooting my arrows in Al-Madinah at the time of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) when the sun was eclipsed. I came to him and he was standing in prayer, raising his hands - glorifying Allah, praising Him, proclaiming that there is none worthy of worship but Him, proclaiming His greatness, and calling upon Him - until the eclipse ended. When it ended, he recited two Surah and prayed two Rak'ah."
