وَحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحِ بْنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ وَاقِدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ رَآنِى نَافِعُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ وَنَحْنُ فِى جَنَازَةٍ قَائِمًا وَقَدْ جَلَسَ يَنْتَظِرُ أَنْ تُوضَعَ الْجَنَازَةُ فَقَالَ لِى مَا يُقِيمُكَ فَقُلْتُ أَنْتَظِرُ أَنْ تُوضَعَ الْجَنَازَةُ لِمَا يُحَدِّثُ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِىُّ. فَقَالَ نَافِعٌ فَإِنَّ مَسْعُودَ بْنَ الْحَكَمِ حَدَّثَنِى عَنْ عَلِىِّ بْنِ أَبِى طَالِبٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- ثُمَّ قَعَدَ.
It was narrated that Waqid bin 'Amr bin Sa'd bin Mu'adh said: "Nafi' bin Jubair saw me standing while we were at a funeral, and he had sat while waiting for the deceased to be put down. He said to me: 'Why are you standing?' I said: 'I am waiting for the deceased to be put down, because of the Hadith narrated by Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri.' Nafi' said: 'Mas'ud bin Al-Hakam narrated to me that 'Ali bin Abi 'Talib said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) stood, then (later) he sat."
