حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِىٍّ الْحُلْوَانِىُّ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِى عَنْ صَالِحٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ يُحَدِّثُ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ - يَعْنِى حَدِيثَ الزُّهْرِىِّ الَّذِى ذَكَرْنَا - فَقَالَ فِى حَدِيثِهِ فَضَرَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- بِيَدِهِ بَيْنَ عُنُقِى وَكَتِفِى ثُمَّ قَالَ « أَقِتَالاً أَىْ سَعْدُ إِنِّى لأُعْطِى الرَّجُلَ ».
It was narrated that Ismail bin Muhammad bin Sad said: “I heard Muhammad bin Sad narrating this”- meaning, the Hadith of Az-Zuhri which is quoted above (no 2434) – and in this Hadith he said: “The Messenger of Allah (SAW) struck me with his hand between my neck and shoulder, then he said: ‘Are you arguing?, O Sad, because I give something to a man?’”
