حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ تَسَحَّرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- ثُمَّ قُمْنَا إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ. قُلْتُ كَمْ كَانَ قَدْرُ مَا بَيْنَهُمَا قَالَ خَمْسِينَ آيَةً.
It was narrated that Anas, from Zaid bin Thabit [may Allah be pleased with them] who said: “We ate Sahur with the Messenger of Allah (SAW), then we got up and offered As-Salat (Fajr).” I said: “How long was there between the two?” He said: “(The time it takes to recite ) fifty verses”.
