Sahih Muslim Book - 13, Hadith - 2728
وَحَدَّثَنِى زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَابْنُ أَبِى خَلَفٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ رضى الله عنه ح وَحَدَّثَنِى أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ رضى الله عنه أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- كَانَ يَصُومُ حَتَّى يُقَالَ قَدْ صَامَ قَدْ صَامَ. وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى يُقَالَ قَدْ أَفْطَرَ قَدْ أَفْطَرَ.
It was narrated from Anas [may Allah be pleased with them] that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) used to fast until it would be said: “He is fasting, he is fasting;” and he would stop fasting until it was said: “He has stopped fasting, he has stopped fasting.”
