It was narrated that Ubayy bin ka’b [may Allah be pleased with them] said concerning Lailat Al-Qadar: “By Allah, I know it” – (one of the narrators) Shu’bah said: “To the best of my knowledge” – “it is the night which the Messenger of Allah (SAW) commanded us to spend in prayer, it is the night of the twenty-seventh.” Shu’bah was uncertain about this phrase: “It is the night which the Messenger of Allah (SAW) commanded us (to spend in prayer).” He said: “A friend of mine narrated it to me from him.”
