حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ بَيَانٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِى الشَّعْثَاءِ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ النَّخَعِىَّ وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِىَّ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّى أَهُمُّ أَنْ أَجْمَعَ الْعُمْرَةَ وَالْحَجَّ الْعَامَ. فَقَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ النَّخَعِىُّ لَكِنْ أَبُوكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيَهُمَّ بِذَلِكَ. قَالَ قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ بَيَانٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِىِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ مَرَّ بِأَبِى ذَرٍّ - رضى الله عنه - بِالرَّبَذَةِ فَذَكَرَ لَهُ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا كَانَتْ لَنَا خَاصَّةً دُونَكُمْ.
It was narrated that Abdur- Rahman bin Abi Ash-Shatha said: “I came to Ibrahim An-Nakhai and Ibrahim At-Taimi and said: ‘I intend to combine Umrah and Hajj this year.’ Ibrahim An-Nakhai said: ‘your father would not have intended to do that’.” Qutaibah said: “Jarir narrated to us from Bayan, from Ibrahim At-Taimi, from his father, that he passed by Abu Dharr [may Allah be pleased with them] in Ar-Rabdhah, and he mentioned that to him, and he said: ‘it was allowed specifically for us but not for you.’ ”
"When a person dies, his works end, except for three: ongoing charity, knowledge that is benefited from, and a righteous child who prays for him."
