حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِىِّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِى الشَّعْثَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ دَخَلَ عَلَىَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- وَعِنْدِى رَجُلٌ قَاعِدٌ فَاشْتَدَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ وَرَأَيْتُ الْغَضَبَ فِى وَجْهِهِ قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ أَخِى مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ. قَالَتْ فَقَالَ « انْظُرْنَ إِخْوَتَكُنَّ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ فَإِنَّمَا الرَّضَاعَةُ مِنَ الْمَجَاعَةِ ».
It was narrated that Masruq said: "Aishah said: The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) entered upon me and there was a man sitting in my house. He felt upset because of that and I saw signs of anger in his face. I said: "O Messenger of Allah, he is my brother through breastfeeding." He said: "Consider who are your brothers through breastfeeding, for breastfeeding is only through hunger."
