Sahih Muslim Book - 2, Hadith - 625

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ قَالَ كَانَ أَبُو مُوسَى يُشَدِّدُ فِي الْبَوْلِ وَيَبُولُ فِي قَارُورَةٍ وَيَقُولُ إِنَّ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ كَانَ إِذَا أَصَابَ جِلْدَ أَحَدِهِمْ بَوْلٌ قَرَضَهُ بِالْمَقَارِيضِ فَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ لَوَدِدْتُ أَنَّ صَاحِبَكُمْ لَا يُشَدِّدُ هَذَا التَّشْدِيدَ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي أَنَا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَتَمَاشَى فَأَتَى سُبَاطَةً خَلْفَ حَائِطٍ فَقَامَ كَمَا يَقُومُ أَحَدُكُمْ فَبَالَ فَانْتَبَذْتُ مِنْهُ فَأَشَارَ إِلَيَّ فَجِئْتُ فَقُمْتُ عِنْدَ عَقِبِهِ حَتَّى فَرَغَ.

It was narrated that Abu Wa'il said: "Abu Musa was very strict with regard to urinating, and he used to urinate into a bottle. He said: 'Among the Children of Israel, if any urine got onto the skin of one of them, he would cut it with scissors.' Hudhaifah said: 'Would that your companion were not so strict, for I remember the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) and I walking together. He came to a garbage-dump behind a wall and he stood as any one of you would stand and urinated. I turned to go away from him but he gestured to me to come (to shield), and I came and stood (behind him) at his heels until he had finished."'
