Sahih Muslim Book - 2, Hadith - 633

و حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زُرَيْعٍ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيُّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ تَخَلَّفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَتَخَلَّفْتُ مَعَهُ فَلَمَّا قَضَى حَاجَتَهُ قَالَ أَمَعَكَ مَاءٌ فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِمِطْهَرَةٍ فَغَسَلَ كَفَّيْهِ وَوَجْهَهُ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ يَحْسِرُ عَنْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ فَضَاقَ كُمُّ الْجُبَّةِ فَأَخْرَجَ يَدَهُ مِنْ تَحْتِ الْجُبَّةِ وَأَلْقَى الْجُبَّةَ عَلَى مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَغَسَلَ ذِرَاعَيْهِ وَمَسَحَ بِنَاصِيَتِهِ وَعَلَى الْعِمَامَةِ وَعَلَى خُفَّيْهِ ثُمَّ رَكِبَ وَرَكِبْتُ فَانْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى الْقَوْمِ وَقَدْ قَامُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ يُصَلِّي بِهِمْ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ وَقَدْ رَكَعَ بِهِمْ رَكْعَةً فَلَمَّا أَحَسَّ بِالنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَهَبَ يَتَأَخَّرُ فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقُمْتُ فَرَكَعْنَا الرَّكْعَةَ الَّتِي سَبَقَتْنَا.

It was narrated from 'Urwah bin Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah that his father said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) stayed behind and I stayed behind with him. When he had relieved himself he said: 'Do you have any water with you?' I brought him a jug and he washed his hands and face, then he went to uncover his arms, but the sleeves of his cloak were too tight, so he brought his arms out from beneath the cloak and threw the cloak over his shoulders. Then he washed his hands and wiped over his forehead and wiped over his 'Imamah and his Khuff. Then he came to the people who had got up to pray, and they were being led in prayer by 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf, who had led them in one Rak'ah. When he realized that the Prophet (s.a.w) was there, he started to move backwards, but he (s.a.w) gestured to him (to stay where he was), so he led them in prayer. When he finished, the Prophet (s.a.w) and I stood up and prayed the Rak'ah that we had missed."
