وَحَدَّثَنِى حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِى يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَنِى سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ قَالَ قَدْ رَأَيْتُ النَّاسَ فِى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- إِذَا ابْتَاعُوا الطَّعَامَ جِزَافًا يُضْرَبُونَ فِى أَنْ يَبِيعُوهُ فِى مَكَانِهِمْ وَذَلِكَ حَتَّى يُئْوُوهُ إِلَى رِحَالِهِمْ. قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ وَحَدَّثَنِى عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ كَانَ يَشْتَرِى الطَّعَامَ جِزَافًا فَيَحْمِلُهُ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ.
Salim bin 'Abdullah narrated that his father said: "I saw the people at the time of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) being beaten if they bought food without measure then sold it on the spot, unless they took it to their own places." Ibn Shihab said: "'Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah bin 'Umar told me that his father used to buy food without measure then take it to his family."
