Sahih Muslim Book - 22, Hadith - 4022
وَحَدَّثَنِيهِ يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبٍ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ يَعْنِى ابْنَ الْحَارِثِ ح وَحَدَّثَنِى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنِى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ كُلُّهُمْ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ. وَقَالَ ابْنُ حَاتِمٍ فِى حَدِيثِهِ عَنْ يَحْيَى وَرَخَّصَ فِى كَلْبِ الْغَنَمِ وَالصَّيْدِ وَالزَّرْعِ.
It was narrated from Shu'bah (a Hadith similar to no. 4021, with a different chain of narrators) with this chain. Ibn Hatim said in his Hadith from Yahya: He (s.a.w) granted a concession with regard to dogs for herding sheep, hunting and (guard dogs) in farms.
