وَحَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِىُّ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « إِذَا صَنَعَ لأَحَدِكُمْ خَادِمُهُ طَعَامَهُ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ بِهِ وَقَدْ وَلِىَ حَرَّهُ وَدُخَانَهُ فَلْيُقْعِدْهُ مَعَهُ فَلْيَأْكُلْ فَإِنْ كَانَ الطَّعَامُ مَشْفُوهًا قَلِيلاً فَلْيَضَعْ فِى يَدِهِ مِنْهُ أُكْلَةً أَوْ أُكْلَتَيْنِ ». قَالَ دَاوُدُ يَعْنِى لُقْمَةً أَوْ لُقْمَتَيْنِ.
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "When the servant of any one of you brings food which he had looked, worked hard and endured heat and smoke, let him invite him to eat with him, and if the food runs a little short, he should still put a morsel or two of it in his hand."
