Sahih Muslim Book - 35, Hadith - 5084
وحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ (ح) وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِى حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْطَاهُ غَنَمًا يَقْسِمُهَا عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ ضَحَايَا ، فَبَقِيَ عَتُودٌ ، فَذَكَرَهُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ: ضَحِّ بِهِ أَنْتَ. قَالَ قُتَيْبَةُ : عَلَى صَحَابَتِهِ.
It ,was narrated from 'Uqbah bin 'Amir that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) gave him some sheep to distribute among his Companions as sacrifices, and there a young goat remained. He mentioned it to the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) and he said: "Sacrifice it yourself."
