حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو كَامِلٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ فُضَيْلُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ عَنْ قُطْبَةَ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ وَصَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَرَأَ ق وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ حَتَّى قَرَأَ { وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ } قَالَ فَجَعَلْتُ أُرَدِّدُهَا وَلَا أَدْرِي مَا قَالَ
It was narrated that Qutbah bin Malik said: "I offered prayers and the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) led us in (that) prayer, and he recited: "Qaf By the Glorious Qur'an... until he reached: "And tall date palms" Then he started to repeat it, and I do not know what he said."
"When a person dies, his works end, except for three: ongoing charity, knowledge that is benefited from, and a righteous child who prays for him."

"The best of what a man leaves behind are three: a righteous child who supplicates for him, ongoing charity the reward of which reaches him, and knowledge that is acted upon after him."

"Every day two angels come down from Heaven and one of them says, 'O Allah! Compensate every person who spends in Your Cause,' and the other (angel) says, 'O Allah! Destroy every miser.'"
