حَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : مَا ضَرَبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا قَطُّ بِيَدِهِ ، وَلاَ امْرَأَةً ، وَلاَ خَادِمًا ، إِلاَّ أَنْ يُجَاهِدَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ ، وَمَا نِيلَ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ قَطُّ ، فَيَنْتَقِمَ مِنْ صَاحِبِهِ ، إِلاَّ أَنْ يُنْتَهَكَ شَيْءٌ مِنْ مَحَارِمِ اللهِ ، فَيَنْتَقِمَ لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.
It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) never hit anyone with his hand, nor any woman or servant, except when fighting in Jihad in the cause of Allah. And if he was offended in some way he never took revenge for his own sake, unless one of the sacred limits of Allah had been transgressed, then he would take revenge for the sake of Allah.”
