It was narrated that Jabir said: "We were with the Prophet (s.a.w) on a journey, and he sent me on an errand. I came back and he was praying atop his mount, facing in a direction other than the Qiblah. I greeted him and he did not respond. When he had finished he said: 'Nothing kept me from returning your greeting but the fact that I was praying."'
