It was narrated that Jabir bin 'Abdullah said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'Whoever eats garlic or onions, let him keep away from us, or keep away from our Masjid and stay in his house.' A pot of fresh vegetables was brought to him, and he noticed that it had a smell. He asked about it and he was told what kind of vegetables were on it. He said: 'Take it away,' to one of his Companions. When he saw it (that the Prophet (s.a.w) disliked it) , he did not want to eat it. He (s.a.w) said: 'Eat, for I converse with one with whom you do not converse."'
