وَحَدَّثَنِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ وَمَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ السَّرِىِّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِىِّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- غَيْرَ أَنَّ مَحْمُودًا قَالَ فِى رِوَايَتِهِ عَنْ بِشْرٍ « وَمَثَلُ الْكَافِرِ كَمَثَلِ الأَرْزَةِ ». وَأَمَّا ابْنُ حَاتِمٍ فَقَالَ « مَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ ». كَمَا قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ.
It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Ka'b bin Malik from his father from the Prophet (s.a.w) (a Hadith similar to no. 7095), except that Mahmud said in his report from Bishr: "The likeness of the disbeliever is that of a cedar," and Ibn Hatim said: "The likeness of the hypocrite," as Zuhair said.
