Sahih Muslim Book - 54, Hadith - 7558
حَدَّثَنِى عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُطِيعٍ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ أَبِى بِشْرٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لاِبْنِ عَبَّاسٍ سُورَةُ التَّوْبَةِ قَالَ آلتَّوْبَةِ قَالَ بَلْ هِىَ الْفَاضِحَةُ مَا زَالَتْ تَنْزِلُ وَمِنْهُمْ وَمِنْهُمْ. حَتَّى ظَنُّوا أَنْ لاَ يَبْقَى مِنَّا أَحَدٌ إِلاَّ ذُكِرَ فِيهَا. قَالَ قُلْتُ سُورَةُ الأَنْفَالِ قَالَ تِلْكَ سُورَةُ بَدْرٍ. قَالَ قُلْتُ فَالْحَشْرُ قَالَ نَزَلَتْ فِى بَنِى النَّضِيرِ.
It was narrated that Sa'eed bin Jubair said: "I said to Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them: 'Surat At-Tawbah?' He said: 'At-Tawbah? Rather it is Al-Fadihah (the exposer of the disbelievers and hypocrites). It is constantly revealed in it: "... and of them are some...", "...and of them are some..." - until they thought that there would be no one among them who would not be mentioned in it.' I said: 'Surat Al-Anfal?' He said: 'That is the Surah of Badr.' I said: 'And Al-Hashr?' He said: 'It was revealed concerning Banu An-Nadir."'
