It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: "I heard 'Umar bin Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, on the Minbar of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w), saying: 'O people, when the prohibition of Khamr was revealed (in the Qur'an), it was made from five things: grapes, dates, honey, wheat and barley, but Khamr is that which clouds the mind. And there are three things, O people, that I wish the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) had explained in detail: (laws pertaining to the inheritance of) the grandfather, Al-Kalalah (when a person dies leaving no parents and no children) and some types of Riba."'
