حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ زُرَارَةَ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ أَبِى هَاشِمٍ عَنْ أَبِى مِجْلَزٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ عُبَادٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا ذَرٍّ يُقْسِمُ قَسَمًا إِنَّ (هَذَانِ خَصْمَانِ اخْتَصَمُوا فِى رَبِّهِمْ) إِنَّهَا نَزَلَتْ فِى الَّذِينَ بَرَزُوا يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ حَمْزَةُ وَعَلِىٌّ وَعُبَيْدَةُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ وَعُتْبَةُ وَشَيْبَةُ ابْنَا رَبِيعَةَ وَالْوَلِيدُ بْنُ عُتْبَةَ.
It was narrated that Qais bin 'Ubad said: "I heard Abu Dharr, may Allah be pleased with him, swearing that the Verse: "These two opponents dispute with each other about their Lord..." was revealed concerning those who came out for single combat on the Day of Badr: Hamzah, 'Ali and 'Ubaidah bin Al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with them), and 'Utbah and Shaibah the two sons of Rabi'ah, and Al-Walid bin 'Utbah."'
