حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ ابْنَا أَبِى شَيْبَةَ وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِىُّ - وَاللَّفْظُ لاِبْنَىْ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ - قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ أَخْبَرَنَا وَقَالَ الآخَرَانِ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ أَبِى إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الأَغَرِّ أَبِى مُسْلِمٍ يَرْوِيهِ عَنْ أَبِى سَعِيدٍ وَأَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ قَالاَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُمْهِلُ حَتَّى إِذَا ذَهَبَ ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ الأَوَّلُ نَزَلَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا فَيَقُولُ هَلْ مِنْ مُسْتَغْفِرٍ هَلْ مِنْ تَائِبٍ هَلْ مِنْ سَائِلٍ هَلْ مِنْ دَاعٍ حَتَّى يَنْفَجِرَ الْفَجْرُ ».
It was narrated that Abu Sa'eed and Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'Allah waits until the first two-thirds of the night have gone, then He descends to the lowest heaven and says: Is there anyone who will ask for forgiveness? Is there anyone who will repent? Is there anyone who will ask? Is there anyone who will call? until dawn breaks."'
