وَحَدَّثَنِى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ عَبْدٌ أَخْبَرَنَا وَقَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِىِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا الْحَبَشَةُ يَلْعَبُونَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- بِحِرَابِهِمْ إِذْ دَخَلَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ فَأَهْوَى إِلَى الْحَصْبَاءِ يَحْصِبُهُمْ بِهَا. فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « دَعْهُمْ يَا عُمَرُ ».
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "While the Ethiopians were playing with their spears in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w), 'Umar bin Al-Khattab came in, and he bent down to pick up some pebbles to throw at them, but the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'Let them be, O 'Umar!"'
