سُبْحَانَ ٱللَّٰهِ
Holy Qur'an
Al-Qur'an
Kids Qur'an
You shall neither tie your hands to your neck (be miserly) norstretch them forth to their utmost reach (be prodigal), lest yousit back, blameworthy, destitute.
Behold, you are those who are being asked to give in the cause ofAllah. Yet some of you are stingy, whereas whoever is stingy toHis cause, is in fact stingy to himself. Allah is selfsufficient, it is you who are needy. If you turn away He willreplace you by some other folk; who will not be like you.
Therefore be patient with what they say. Glorify your Rabb withHis praise before sunrise and before sunset, glorify Him duringthe hours of the night as well as at the ends of the day, so thatyou may find satisfaction.
So if the unbelievers disdain His worship, let them remember thatthe angels who are nearest to your Rabb, glorify Him day andnight and never feel tired.
And glorify Him during a part of the night and after theprostration (prayers).
and glorify Him in a part of the night, and also as the starsfade away.
He is the One Who has made the night for you to rest therein andthe day so that you can see. Indeed, there are signs in this forthose who listen to His message.
He is the One Who spread out the earth and placed thereonmountains and rivers, created fruits of every kind in pairs, twoand two and makes the night cover the day. Certainly in thesethings there are signs for those who use their common sense.
Do they not see that We have made the night for them to rest in,and the day to give them light? Surely there are signs in thisfor the true believers.
Another sign for them is the night; when We withdraw the daylightfrom it, and behold they are in darkness.
The sun runs its course, this course is pre-estimated for it bythe Almighty, the All-Knowing.
As for the moon, We have designed phases for it till it againbecomes like an old dry palm branch.
Neither it is possible for the sun to overtake the moon, nor forthe night to outstrip the day: each floats along in its ownorbit.
He has subjected to your service the night and the day, the sunand the moon: and likewise the stars also serve you by Hiscommand: surely there are signs in this for people who use theircommon sense.
who are steadfast, sincere, obedient, and charitable, and whopray for forgiveness in the morning time.
prostrate before Him at night and glorify Him during the longhours of night.
It is out of His mercy that He has made for you the night thatyou may rest in it, and the day that you may seek His bounty, sothat you may render thanks.
Stand in prayers at night, but not the whole night,
half of it or a little less,
or a little more; and recite the Qur'an with measured tone.
Soon We are going to send you a weighty message.
Surely the getting up at night for prayer is most effective forcontrolling the self and most suitable for reciting the Qur'an aswell;
because, during the day you are hard pressed with worldlyaffairs.
Remember the name of your Rabb and devote yourself to Himexclusively.
Surely your Rabb knows that you stand in prayers nearly two-thirds of the night, and sometimes one-half or one-third of it,so do others among your companions. Allah has the measures of thenight and the day. He knows that you will not be able to keep itup, so He has turned to you in Mercy, therefore, read from theQur'an as much as you easily can. He knows that there may be somesick people among you, and some others who travel through theland to seek Allah's bounty; and yet some others fighting for thecause of Allah. Therefore, read as much of the Qur'an as youeasily can. Establish the Salah (five time daily prayers) and paythe Zakah (poor due), and give to Allah a goodly loan. Whatevergood you will send forth for yourselves, you will find it withAllah, which will be much better and greater in reward. SeekAllah's forgiveness, surely Allah is Oft-Forgiving, MostMerciful.
Can he who is obedient, pass the hours of night prostrating inworship or standing in adoration, fearing the hereafter and hopeto earn the Mercy of his Rabb, be compared to the man who doesnot? Are the knowledgeable and the ignorant equal? In fact, nonewill take heed except the people of understanding.

Yet they are not all alike: there are some among the People ofthe Book who are upright, who recite the revelations of Allah allnight long and then prostrate before Him;
It is made lawful for you to approach your wives during the nightof the fast; they are an apparel for you and you for them. Allahknows that you were committing dishonesty to your souls. So Hehas relented towards you and pardoned you. Now, you may approachyour wives and seek what Allah has written for you. Eat and drinkuntil the white thread of dawn appears to you distinct from theblack thread of night, then complete your fast till nightfall. Donot approach your wives during I'htikaf (retreat in the mosquesin last ten days of Ramadhan). These are the limits set by Allah:do not ever violate them. Thus Allah makes His revelations clearto mankind so that they may guard themselves against evil.
Another sign for them is the night; when We withdraw the daylightfrom it, and behold they are in darkness.
Among His signs are the night and the day and the sun and moon.Do not prostrate yourselves before the sun or the moon; ratherprostrate yourselves before Allah, Who created them both, if youtruly are His worshippers.
So if the unbelievers disdain His worship, let them remember thatthe angels who are nearest to your Rabb, glorify Him day andnight and never feel tired.
As to the righteous, they will be in the midst of gardens andsprings,
joyfully receiving what their Rabb shall give them; for they werebefore that (during their life on earth) righteous people,
They used to sleep but little in the night time,
pray for forgiveness in the early morning,
and share their wealth with the needy who asked for it, and thosewho could not ask.
Stand in prayers at night, but not the whole night,

Surely We have revealed this (Qur'an) in the night of Qadr.
So be patient, the promise of Allah is true. Implore forgivenessfor your sins and celebrate the praises of your Rabb evening andmorning.
It is guarded by nineteen guards.
We have appointed none but angels as wardens of the fire; and Wehave made their number a trial for the unbelievers, so that thePeople of the Book may be convinced and the faith of the truebelievers may be increased, and that no doubts will be left forthe People of the Book and the believers, and that those in whosehearts there is a disease and the disbelievers may say: "Whatcould Allah mean by this parable?" Thus, Allah leaves to straywhom He wills and guides whom He pleases. No one knows the forcesof your Rabb except Himself, and this (Qur'an) is nothing but areminder to mankind.
Nuh called out to his Rabb saying: "O my Rabb! My son is of myfamily, and surely Your promise is true and You are the most justof all Judges!"
We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people and he lived among them athousand years less fifty. Then because of their wrongdoings theflood overtook them.
But We delivered him and all who were in the ark and We made thatark a sign for the peoples of the world.
So We opened the gates of heaven with pouring rain
and caused the earth to burst with gushing springs, and thewaters met to fulfill the decreed end.
We carried him in an Ark built with planks and nails,
which drifted on under Our care: a reward for him (Noah) who wasdenied by the unbelievers.
We have left that Ark as a sign, so is there any who would takeadmonition?
Another sign for them is how We carried their race through theflood in the laden ark;
So We granted his prayer, delivered him and those with him in theladen ark,
and drowned the rest in the flood.
Surely in this story there is a great lesson, but most of thesepeople do not learn a lesson and become believers.
Therefore, O Prophet, let them be. On the Day when the callerwill call them to a terrible event.
But they disbelieved him. As a result, We saved him and those ofthem who were with him in the Ark and We made them successors inthe Earth and drowned those who rejected Our revelations. You seewhat was the end of those who were warned but did not believe!
If they deny you O Muhammad, remember that before them the peopleof Nuh (Noah), 'Ad and Thamud;
Before them the people of Nuh, `Ad and Fir'on, the man of spikes, denied their Rasools,
So did Thamud, the people of Lut and those of Aiykah (the peopleof Median) - all divided themselves into factions;
all charged their Rasools as liars, so just was my torment ofannihilating them.
Allah has set an example to the unbelievers in the wife of Nuh(Noah) and the wife of Lut (Lot). They were married to two of Ourrighteous servants, but they betrayed them. In no way could theirhusbands protect them from Allah. Both of them were told: "Enterthe fire, along with those who enter."
Likewise, the people of Nuh (Noah) We drowned when they rejectedthe Rasools and made them an example for mankind; and We haveprepared a painful punishment for such wrongdoers.
Quote to them the story of Nuh (Noah) when he said to his people:"O my people! If it offends you that I should live among you andpreach to you the revelations of Allah, then you should know thatI have put my trust in Allah. Go ahead and muster all yourshoraka' (deities you worship) and come up with your uniteddecision. Plan it well so that you may not have any doubt aboutits being foolproof. Then execute it against me and give me norespite.
How terrible was My scourge and how clear My warning!
There are many lessons in this story, and surely We do testpeople.
I swear by the setting of the stars,
and it is indeed a mighty oath if you but knew it,
that this is indeed a Glorious Qur'an,
inscribed in a well-guarded Book,
which none can touch except the purified (angels):
a revelation from the Rabb of the worlds.
When you are blessed with good fortune they grieve; but if somemisfortune overtakes you they rejoice. If you are patient andguard yourself against evil, their schemes will not harm you inany way. Surely Allah encompasses all their actions.
O believers! Do not make intimate friendships with any but withyour own people. The unbelievers will not miss any opportunity tocorrupt you. They desire nothing but your destruction: theirmalice has become evident from what they say; and what theyconceal in their hearts is far worse. We have made Ourrevelations plain to you, if you do want to comprehend.
Whereas you love them, they do not love you even though youbelieve in their Holy Books (the Psalms, the Torah, and theGospels). When they meet you they say "We also believe in yourprophet and your Qur'an;" but when they are alone they bite theirfingertips in rage against you. Say to them: "May you perish inyour rage;" surely Allah knows all the secrets of the heart.
When you are blessed with good fortune they grieve; but if somemisfortune overtakes you they rejoice. If you are patient andguard yourself against evil, their schemes will not harm you inany way. Surely Allah encompasses all their actions.
When you are blessed with good fortune they grieve; but if somemisfortune overtakes you they rejoice. If you are patient andguard yourself against evil, their schemes will not harm you inany way. Surely Allah encompasses all their actions.
You shall certainly be tested with by means of your wealth andwith your persons; and you will certainly hear much that ishurtful from those who were given the Book before you, and fromthe mushrikin. But if you endure with patience and have fear ofAllah, this will surely be a proof of your firm determination.
The Rasool will say: "O my Rabb! Surely my people took thisQur'an for foolish nonsense."
Do you not see that Allah sends down water from the sky so theland becomes green? Surely Allah is the Benignant, Aware.
To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth; surelyAllah is the One Who is the Self-sufficient, the Praiseworthy.
Do you not see that Allah has subdued to you all that is in theearth and the ships that sail through the sea by His command? Heis withholding the sky in a way that it cannot fall down on theearth without His permission; surely Allah is very kind andmerciful to mankind.
He is the One Who has given you life, will cause you to die andthen will bring you back to life again - yet man is indeed veryungrateful.
To every nation We have prescribed the rites of worship whichthey observe, therefore, let them not dispute with you concerningthis matter - keep calling them to the Way of your Rabb; for mostsurely you are rightly guided.
If they argue with you, say: "Allah knows best all that you do."
Allah will judge between you on the Day of Resurrectionconcerning the matters in which you differ.
Do you not know that Allah is aware of all that is in heaven andthe earth? Certainly all of this is recorded in a Book and it isvery easy for Allah to do so.
Yet they worship besides Allah those deities for which He hasrevealed no sanction, nor they themselves have any knowledgeabout them; certainly the wrongdoers shall have no helper.
Now some will soon say: "They were three and their dog was the fourth." The others will guess: "They were five and their dog was the sixth," and there are still others who will say: "They were seven and their dog was the eighth." Say: "My Rabb Alone knows their number. None but a few really know their correct number." Therefore, do not enter into discussion with them about their number except in a cursory way, nor ask anyone about the companions of the cave.
When Our Clear Revelations are recited to them the unbelieverssay to the believer: "Which one, of the two of us, have finedwelling and better companions?"
Don't they see, how many generations have We destroyed beforethem, who were far greater in riches and in splendor?
Tell them: "Anyone who has gone astray, the Compassionate (Allah)prolongs his respite and extends an opportunity until they seeabout which they were warned; - be it a worldly scourge or theHour of Doom - then they will realize whose is the worst dwellingand whose are the weak companions?
The mothers shall breast-feed their offspring for two whole yearsif the father wishes the breast-feeding to be completed. Thereasonable cost of their maintenance and clothing will be theresponsibility of the child's father. No one should be chargedwith more than they can afford. Neither a mother should be madeto suffer on account of her child nor a father on account of hischild. The father's heirs are under the same obligation. But ifwith mutual agreement they both decide to wean the child there isno blame on them. If you decide to have a foster-mother for youroffspring there is no blame on you provided you pay what you havepromised to pay in an honorable manner. Fear Allah and bewarethat Allah observes your actions.
