Sahih Muslim Book - 12, Hadith - 2455

وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ سَعِيدٍ يَقُولُ أَخْبَرَنِى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِى سَلَمَةَ وَعَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ أَنَّهُمَا أَتَيَا أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِىَّ فَسَأَلاَهُ عَنِ الْحَرُورِيَّةِ هَلْ سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يَذْكُرُهَا قَالَ لاَ أَدْرِى مَنِ الْحَرُورِيَّةُ وَلَكِنِّى سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يَقُولُ « يَخْرُجُ فِى هَذِهِ الأُمَّةِ - وَلَمْ يَقُلْ مِنْهَا - قَوْمٌ تَحْقِرُونَ صَلاَتَكُمْ مَعَ صَلاَتِهِمْ فَيَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ. لاَ يُجَاوِزُ حُلُوقَهُمْ - أَوْ حَنَاجِرَهُمْ - يَمْرُقُونَ مِنَ الدِّينِ مُرُوقَ السَّهْمِ مِنَ الرَّمِيَّةِ فَيَنْظُرُ الرَّامِى إِلَى سَهْمِهِ إِلَى نَصْلِهِ إِلَى رِصَافِهِ فَيَتَمَارَى فِى الْفُوقَةِ هَلْ عَلِقَ بِهَا مِنَ الدَّمِ شَىْءٌ ».

It was narrated from Abu Salamah and Ata bin Yasar that they came to Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri and asked him about Al-Haruriyyah “Did you hear the Messenger of Allah (SAW) mention them?” he said : “I do not know who Al-Haruriyyah are, but I hear the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say: ‘There will be emerge among this Ummah’- and he did not say ‘from them’- ‘people in comparison to whose prayer you will regard your prayer as insignificant. They will recite the Quran but it will not go nay further than their throats. They will pass out of Islam like an arrow passes out of the prey, then the archer looks at his arrow, as its tip and at its end, and its notch, wondering whether there are any traces of blood on it.’”
