Sahih Muslim Book - 12, Hadith - 2457

وَحَدَّثَنِى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِى عَدِىٍّ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِى نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِى سَعِيدٍ أَنَّ النَّبِىَّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- ذَكَرَ قَوْمًا يَكُونُونَ فِى أُمَّتِهِ يَخْرُجُونَ فِى فُرْقَةٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ سِيمَاهُمُ التَّحَالُقُ قَالَ « هُمْ شَرُّ الْخَلْقِ - أَوْ مِنْ أَشَرِّ الْخَلْقِ - يَقْتُلُهُمْ أَدْنَى الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ إِلَى الْحَقِّ ». قَالَ فَضَرَبَ النَّبِىُّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- لَهُمْ مَثَلاً أَوْ قَالَ قَوْلاً « الرَّجُلُ يَرْمِى الرَّمِيَّةَ - أَوْ قَالَ الْغَرَضَ - فَيَنْظُرُ فِى النَّصْلِ فَلاَ يَرَى بَصِيرَةً وَيَنْظُرُ فِى النَّضِىِّ فَلاَ يَرَى بَصِيرَةً وَيَنْظُرُ فِى الْفُوقِ فَلاَ يَرَى بَصِيرَةً ». قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ وَأَنْتُمْ قَتَلْتُمُوهُمْ يَا أَهْلَ الْعِرَاقِ.

It was narrated from Abu Sa'eed that Prophet (SAW) mentioned some people who would be among his Ummah; they would emerge when there was division among the people, and their distinguishing feature would be shaving. He said: ‘They are the most of the evil of the people.’ Or said: ‘they are the among most evil of people’- ‘and the group that is closer to the truth will kill them.’ The Prophet (SAW) gave a likeness of them, or said: ‘A man shoots at the prey’- or the ‘the target’- ‘then he looks at the arrow and he does not see any sign (of blood); he looks at he lowest end of the arrow and he does not see any sign (of blood); he look at the notch and he does not see any sign (of blood). Abu Sa'eed said: ‘And you have killed them, O people of Al-Iraq. ’ ’
