وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِى شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِى حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ - رضى الله عنهما - أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- وَاصَلَ فِى رَمَضَانَ فَوَاصَلَ النَّاسُ فَنَهَاهُمْ. قِيلَ لَهُ أَنْتَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ « إِنِّى لَسْتُ مِثْلَكُمْ إِنِّى أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى ».
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar [may Allah be pleased with them] that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) performed Wisal during Ramadan, and people also performed Wisal. He told them not to do that and it was said to him: “You perform Wisal.” He said: “I am not like you; I am fed up and given to drink.”
"When a person dies, his works end, except for three: ongoing charity, knowledge that is benefited from, and a righteous child who prays for him."

"The best of what a man leaves behind are three: a righteous child who supplicates for him, ongoing charity the reward of which reaches him, and knowledge that is acted upon after him."

"Every day two angels come down from Heaven and one of them says, 'O Allah! Compensate every person who spends in Your Cause,' and the other (angel) says, 'O Allah! Destroy every miser.'"
