It was narrated that Abu Salamah said: “We were talking about Lailat Al-Qadar, so I went to Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri [may Allah be pleased with them], who was a friend of mine, and said: ‘Let’s go out to the palm trees.’ So he came out, wearing a khamisah, and I said to him: “Did you hear the Messenger of Allah (SAW) mention Lailat Al-Qadar?” He said: “Yes; we observed I’tikaf with the Messenger of Allah (SAW) during the middle ten days of Ramadan, and we came out on the morning of the twentieth. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) addressed us and said: ‘I was shown Lailat Al-Qadar but I forgot it’ – or ‘I was caused to forget it, so seek it in the last ten nights, on the odd-numbered nights. And I saw that I was prostrating in water and mud, so whoever was observing I’tikaf with the Messenger of Allah (SAW), let him go back.’ So we went back and we did not see any clouds in the sky, then a cloud came and it rained, until the roof of the Masjid, which was made of palm branches, flowed with water. The Iqamah was called for the prayer, and I saw the Messenger of Allah (SAW) prostrating in water and mud, until I saw the trace of mud on his forehead.”
"When a person dies, his works end, except for three: ongoing charity, knowledge that is benefited from, and a righteous child who prays for him."
Prophet Mohammed (PBUH)
"The best of what a man leaves behind are three: a righteous child who supplicates for him, ongoing charity the reward of which reaches him, and knowledge that is acted upon after him."
Sunan Ibn Mājah
"Every day two angels come down from Heaven and one of them says, 'O Allah! Compensate every person who spends in Your Cause,' and the other (angel) says, 'O Allah! Destroy every miser.'"
Sahih Bukhari
