وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَلَيْسَ هَـٰذَا بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّنَا ۚ قَالَ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ Qur’an Al-Ahqaf (46:34)Wayawma yuAAra d u alla th eena kafaroo AAal a a l nn a ri alaysa h atha bi a l h aqqi q a loo bal a warabbin a q a la fa th ooqoo alAAa tha ba bim a kuntum takfuroon a
The Truth which they denied is now all too clear to them. They are out of the Light of Truth, out of the Light of Allah's Countenance. And that in itself is a terrible Penalty.
Cf. xlvi. 20, where the argument was closed about the undutiful son of a good father. After that the example of the 'Ad and of the believing Jinns was cited, and now is closed that argument in similar terms.
