Lingering On

House of Muhammad(S) for conversation, in the

33 : 53

O believers! Do not enter the houses of the Prophet withoutpermission, nor stay waiting for meal time: but if you areinvited to a meal, enter, and when you have eaten disperse and donot seek long conversation. Such behavior annoys the Prophet, hefeels shy in asking you to leave, but Allah does not feel shy intelling the truth. If you have to ask his wives for anything, speak to them from behind a curtain. This is more chaste for yourhearts and for theirs. It is not proper for you to annoy theRasool of Allah, nor ever to marry his wives after him; thiswould be a grievous offence in the sight of Allah.

50 : 43

Surely it is We Who give life and death; and to Us shall allreturn,

50 : 44

on that Day when the earth shall split asunder and the peopleshall be rushing out of it; that gathering them together shall bequite easy for Us.

They say we do notdiscriminate against anyone of His Rasools. And they say: "Wehear and we obey. Grant us Your forgiveness, O Rabb; to You weshall all return."

Once the matter has been decided, Shaitan will say: "In fact, thepromises which Allah made to you were all true; I too made somepromises to you but failed to keep any of them. However, I had nopower over you. I just invited you, and you accepted myinvitation. Now! Do not blame me, but blame yourselves. I cannothelp you, nor you can help me. 28 : 58

How many towns have We destroyed who once flourished in theireconomy? Just see those dwellings of theirs, only a few of whichhave been inhabited after them; at last We Alone became theirinheritors.

28 : 59

Your Rabb would never destroy the towns until He had sent intheir metropolis a Rasool, proclaiming to them Our revelations;and We would not destroy towns except when their dwellers hadbecome wrongdoers.

28 : 60

The things which you have been given are but the provisions andadornments of this worldly life; and that which is with Allah isbetter and more lasting. Why don't you use your common sense?

28 : 61

Can a person to whom We have made a handsome promise and he issure to receive it, be like the one to whom We have only giventhe provisions of this world and he is scheduled to be presentedon the Day of Resurrection for punishment?

26 : 170

So We delivered him and all his family

26 : 171

except an old woman who was left among those who remained behind.

26 : 172

Then We utterly destroyed the rest.

26 : 173

We rained down on them the rain of brimstones: and evil was therain which fell on those who were forewarned.

26 : 174

Surely in this story there is a great lesson, but most of thesepeople do not learn a lesson and become believers.

51 : 35
