O believers! Stand firm for justice and bear true witness for thesake of Allah, even though it be against yourselves, your parentsor your relatives. It does not matter whether the party is richor poor - Allah is well wisher of both. So let not your selfishdesires swerve you from justice. If you distort your testimony ordecline to give it, then you should remember that Allah is fullyaware of your actions.
do not favor others to expect a gain,
They think they have conferred upon you a favor by embracingIslam. Tell them: "You have conferred upon me no favor byaccepting Islam. It was Allah Who has conferred a favor upon youin guiding you to the true faith; admit this, if you are men oftruth.
No affliction can happen on earth nor to your souls, which is notrecorded in a Book, before We bring it into existence; surelythat is easy for Allah.
This is done so that you may not grieve for the things that youmiss, or be overjoyed at what you gain; for Allah does not loveany vainglorious boaster,
nor those who, being stingy themselves, enjoin others to bestingy also. He that gives no heed should know that Allah is freeof all needs, worthy of all praises.
- which will neither pain their heads nor take away their senses.
He has made the two oceans apparently meeting together,
They shall have fruits of their own choice
Yet, between them is a barrier which they cannot cross.
and flesh of fowls that they may desire,
So, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
O children of Israel! Remember My favors to you; fulfil yourcovenant (firm Commitment) with Me and I will fulfil My covenantwith you, that you should fear none but Me.
and a few from the later generations.
He created man from sounding clay similar to pottery,
They shall have the jewelled couches,
And created jinns from smokeless fire.
reclining on them facing each other,
So, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
They will be nearest to Allah,
With all its fruits and palms having sheathed clusters,
in the gardens of bliss.
And grain with husk and scented herbs.
Most of them will be from the former
So, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
Allah has made some of you excel in sustenance over the others;those who are so favored, do not give away their sustenance totheir slaves so as to make them their equals. How can you thinkthat Allah will allow other deities to be His equals? Would theyrefuse to acknowledge the favors of Allah?
It is Allah Who has made for you mates from your own species andHe is the One Who gives you sons and grandsons through thosewives, and provides for you good things to eat: will they then, after knowing all that, believe that falsehood and disbelieveAllah's favors?
They recognize the favors of Allah, yet they deny them; most ofthem are ungrateful disbelievers.
And if after affliction We vouchsafe him a favor from Ourself, heis sure to say: "I deserve this, I do not think that the Hourwill ever come; and even if I am brought back to my Rabb, I wouldstill get good treatment from Him." The fact, however, is that Weshall tell the disbelievers the truth of all that they had doneand We shall make them taste a severe punishment.
When We bestow favors on man, he turns away and drifts off toanother side; and when an evil befalls him, he comes with lengthysupplications.
and foremost shall be the foremost.
He laid out the earth for His creatures,
They will be nearest to Allah,
With all its fruits and palms having sheathed clusters,
in the gardens of bliss.
And grain with husk and scented herbs.
Most of them will be from the former
So, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

reclining on them facing each other,
So, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
and there shall wait on them the eternal youths
He is the Rabb of the two easts and the Rabb of the two wests.
Do they not see that We have made for them a secure sanctuary inthe Ka'bah, while the people are being snatched away from allaround them? Do they still believe in falsehood and deny theblessings of Allah?
and foremost shall be the foremost.
He laid out the earth for His creatures,
They will be nearest to Allah,
With all its fruits and palms having sheathed clusters,
in the gardens of bliss.
And grain with husk and scented herbs.
Most of them will be from the former
So, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
but only the greetings of "Peace be upon you! Peace be upon you!"
All that exists on the earth will perish,
Those of the right hand - happy shall be those on the right hand!
But the Face of your Rabb will remain full of Majesty and Glory.
They shall be among the thornless lot trees,
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
- which will neither pain their heads nor take away their senses.
He has made the two oceans apparently meeting together,
They shall have fruits of their own choice
Yet, between them is a barrier which they cannot cross.

We have enjoined man to treat his parents with kindness. Withmuch trouble his mother bore him, and much pain did she give himbirth. His bearing and his weaning took thirty months. When hereaches the age of full strength and becomes forty years old, hesays: "My Rabb! Grant me the grace that I may thank you for thefavors which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and thatI may do good deeds that will please You, and grant me goodchildren. Surely I turn to You in repentance and surely I am ofthose who are Muslims."
Such are the people from whom We shall accept the best of theirdeeds and overlook their misdeeds. They shall be among theresidents of paradise: true is the promise that has been made tothem in this life.
Allah gives you an example of a town which was enjoying securityand peace, receiving its provisions in abundance from everyquarter, but it became ungrateful to the favors of Allah. As aresult, Allah made its residents taste the consequences of theirdoings, through inflicting upon them misfortunes of hunger andfear.
Man is a strange creature: when We bestow Our favors on man, heturns his back and drifts off to one side (instead of coming toUs) and whenever evil touches him, he gives himself up todespair.
We have enjoined man to treat his parents with kindness. Withmuch trouble his mother bore him, and much pain did she give himbirth. His bearing and his weaning took thirty months. When hereaches the age of full strength and becomes forty years old, hesays: "My Rabb! Such are the people from whom We shall accept the best of theirdeeds and overlook their misdeeds. They shall be among theresidents of paradise: true is the promise that has been made tothem in this life.
Recall! When Musa said to his people: "Remember Allah's favor toyou when He delivered you from the people of Fir'on (Pharaoh),who subjected you to cruel afflictions, putting your sons todeath and sparing your females, and in this there was atremendous trial from your Rabb."
and foremost shall be the foremost.
He laid out the earth for His creatures,
They will be nearest to Allah,
With all its fruits and palms having sheathed clusters,
in the gardens of bliss.
And grain with husk and scented herbs.
Most of them will be from the former
So, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
and rehearse the bounty of your Rabb.
When you divorce women and they have reached the end of theirwaiting period ('Iddat) either allow them to stay with honor orlet them go with kindness; but you should not retain them to harmthem or to take undue advantage; if anyone does that he wrongshis own soul. Do not take Allah's revelations as a joke. Rememberthe favors of Allah upon you and the fact that He sent down theBook and Wisdom for your guidance. Fear Allah and know that Allahhas knowledge of everything.
All together hold fast the rope of Allah (Faith of Islam) and benot divided among yourselves. Remember Allah's favors upon youwhen you were enemies; He united your hearts, so by His favor youbecame brethren; you were at the brink of the fiery pit and Hesaved you from it. Thus Allah makes His revelations clear to you,so that you may be rightly guided.
Remember Allah's favor to you and the covenant which He ratifiedwith you when you said: "We hear and we obey." Have fear ofAllah; surely Allah knows the secrets of your hearts.
O believers! Also remember Allah's favor which He recentlybestowed upon you when He restrained the hands of those whosought to harm you (Jewish plan to kill the Prophet and eminentcompanions through an invitation to a dinner which Allah informedhim not to attend). Have fear of Allah; and in Allah let thebelievers put their trust.
O believers! Remember the favor of Allah, which he bestowed onyou, when you were attacked by your enemy's army (during thebattle of Trench/Confederates) and We unleashed against themviolent winds and invisible forces. Allah saw all that you weredoing.
When the enemy attacked you from above and from below; when youreyes were petrified due to fear and your hearts leaped up to yourthroats, and you began to entertain all sorts of doubts aboutAllah,
there, the believers were put to test; and were shaken withtremendous shaking.
Remember, when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts there wasa disease were openly saying: "Allah and His Rasool promised usnothing but delusion!"
And a party of them said: "O people of Yathrib (Madinah)! Youcannot stand the attack much longer. Go back to your city". Andyet another party of them sought leave of the Prophet saying: "Infact our houses are insecure," whereas they were not insecure. They intended nothing but to run away from the battlefront.
Had the city been entered from all sides, and had they beenincited to sedition, they would have little hesitation to becomepartners in it.
O mankind! Call to mind the favors of Allah on you; is there anyother creator than Allah who provides for you from the heavensand the earth? There is no god but Him. How then are you beingdeceived?
The One Who has created all living things in pairs and made foryou the ships and cattle on which you ride
so that you may firmly sit on their backs, then as you mount, recall the goodness of your Rabb and say: "Glory be to Him Whohas subjected these to Our use, otherwise We could not havebrought them under our control,
and to our Rabb we shall all return."
They persisted in heinous sins
For those who fear standing before their Rabb, there will be two gardens.
and used to say: "When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we then be raised to life again?
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
And our forefathers, too?"
Having shady trees with lush green branches.
Tell them: "Surely those of old and those of present age
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
shall certainly be brought together on an appointed time of aknown Day.
In both of them there will be two flowing springs.
Then, "O the mistaken rejecters,
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
you shall eat of the Zaqqum tree,
In both of them there will be two kinds of every fruit.
and fill your bellies with it;
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
and drink on top of it scalding water;
They will recline on couches lined with rich brocade while the fruit of the gardens will be within their easy reach.
yet you shall drink it like a thirsty camel."
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
Such will be their entertainment on the Day of Reckoning.
Therein will be chaste virgins, whom neither man nor jinn has touched before.
We have created you: will you not then testify about Our power ofcreation?
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
Have you ever considered the semen you discharge:
So beautiful as though they were rubies and corals.
Is it you who create the child from it, or are We the Creator?
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
It is We Who have ordained death among you and We are nothelpless
Could the reward for goodness be anything but goodness?
in replacing you by others like yourselves or transforming youinto beings that you do not know.
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
You already know well your first creation, why then do you nottake heed?
And besides these two there shall be two other gardens.
Have you ever considered the seed that you sow in the ground?
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
Is it you who cause it to grow or are We the grower?
Densely shaded with dark green trees.
If it be Our Will, We could crumble your harvest into chaff, andyou would then be left in lamenting:
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
"We are indeed left laden with debts,
In both of them there will be two gushing springs.
indeed we have been deprived from the fruits of our labor!"
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
Have you ever considered the water which you drink?
Each planted with fruit trees, dates and pomegranates.
Is it you who send it down from the clouds or are We the sender?
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
If it be Our Will, We could turn it salty. Why then do you notgive thanks?
In each of them, there will be chaste and beautiful virgins.
Have you ever considered the fire that you kindle?
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
Is it you who grow the tree which feeds the fire or are We thegrower?
Hûris (beautiful damsels) sheltered in their tents.
We have made it a reminder for man as to what would be the lifewithout it, and a provision of life for the travellers of desert.
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
So glorify the name of your Rabb, Who is the Greatest.
Whom neither man nor Jinn has ever touched before.
I swear by the setting of the stars,
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
and it is indeed a mighty oath if you but knew it,
Reclining on green cushions and beautiful fine carpets.
that this is indeed a Glorious Qur'an,
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
of unforbidden never ending supply,
You, the assembly of jinns and men! If you have the power to get away from the boundaries of the heavens and the earth (to escape from His punishment), then get away! You cannot get away except with Our authority.
and will be reclining on high raised couches.
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
Allah has made your homes the place for your rest, and animalskins for tents like houses so that you may find them light whenyou travel and easy to pitch when you stop; while from theirwool, fur, and hair He provides you household items and articlesof convenience for your prescribed term of life.
Allah has provided you shades from the sun out of what He hascreated. He has granted you resorts in the mountains, has grantedyou garments to protect yourselves from heat; and coats of armorto protect you during your wars. Thus He completes his favors toyou, so that you may become Muslims.
of unforbidden never ending supply,
You, the assembly of jinns and men! If you have the power to get away from the boundaries of the heavens and the earth (to escape from His punishment), then get away! You cannot get away except with Our authority.
and will be reclining on high raised couches.
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
We shall create their wives of special creation
The flames of fire and molten brass will be unleashed on you both, jinns and men, and you will not be able to defend yourselves.
and make them virgins
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
beloved by nature, equal in age,
When the heaven splits asunder and reddens like red-oil.
for those of the right hand.
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
Many of them will be from the former
On that Day neither man nor jinn will need be asked about his sins.
and many from the later generations.
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
As for those of the left hand - how unfortunate will be thepeople of the left hand!
Because the sinners will be recognized by their faces and they shall be seized by their forelocks and their feet.
They will be in the midst of scorching winds and in boilingwater:
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
in the shade of a pitch-black smoke,
It will be said to them: “This is the hell which the criminals had denied."
neither cool nor refreshing.
They shall wander to and fro between fire and hot boiling water.
For they lived in comfort before meeting this fate.
Then, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?
- which will neither pain their heads nor take away their senses.
He has made the two oceans apparently meeting together,
They shall have fruits of their own choice
Yet, between them is a barrier which they cannot cross.
and flesh of fowls that they may desire,
So, O jinns and men, which of your Rabb’s favors will both of you deny?

Those who spend their wealth in the cause of Allah and do notfollow their charity with reminders of their generosity or injurethe feeling of the recipient, shall get their reward from theirRabb; they shall have nothing to fear or to regret.

We have sent the Rasools only to give good news and to warn: thenwhoever believe and mend their ways shall have nothing to fear orto regret.
O children of Adam! Whenever there come to you Rasools from amongyou and recite to you My revelations, those who will becomerighteous and mend their ways will have nothing to fear or toregret;
We refrain from sending signs (miracles) only because the men offormer generations treated them as false. For example, We sentthe she-camel to the people of Thamud - a manifest sign - butthey laid violent hands on her. We send the signs only by way ofwarning, and if people reject the sign after receiving it, theyare doomed.
"O My devotees! Today you have nothing to fear or to regret,"
Indeed those who say: "Our Rabb is Allah, and then remain firmshall have nothing to fear or to regret.
If you fear a breach of marriage between a man and his wife, appoint one arbiter from his family and another from hers; ifthey wish to reconcile, Allah will create a way of reconciliationbetween them. Allah is the Knowledgeable, Aware.

Who forsake their beds and invoke their Rabb with fear and hope;and they spend in charity out of the sustenance which We havegiven them.
Shaitan threatens you with poverty and prompts you to commit whatis indecent, while Allah promises you His forgiveness andbounties, and Allah has boundless knowledge.
Guard yourselves against the day on which one soul shall notavail another, no intercession shall be accepted, no ransom shallbe taken and no help shall be given.
Guard yourselves against the day when one soul shall not availanother, no ransom shall be taken, no intercession shall profitanyone, and no help shall be given.
Fear the Day when you shall all return to Allah; when every oneshall be paid in full what they have earned and none shall bedealt with unjustly.
Men are overseers over women because Allah has given the one morestrength than other, and because men are required to spend theirwealth for the maintenance of women. Honorable women are, therefore, devoutly obedient and guard in the husband's absencewhat Allah require them to guard their husband's property andtheir own honor. As to those women from whom you feardisobedience, first admonish them, then refuse to share your bedwith them, and then, if necessary, beat them. Then if they obeyyou, take no further actions against them and do not make excusesto punish them. Allah is Supremely Great and is aware of youractions.
You shall not kill your children for fear of want, for it is WeWho provide sustenance for them as well as for you; surelykilling them is a great blunder.
Therefore, do not be fainthearted crying for peace, for you willsurely gain the upper hand. Allah is on your side and will neverlet your deeds be wasted.

Complete the Hajj (obligatory pilgrimage to Makkah) and the Umrah(optional visit to Makkah) for the sake of Allah. If you areprevented from proceeding then send such offering for sacrificeas you can afford and do not shave your head until the offeringshave reached their destination. But if any of you is ill or hasan ailment in his scalp which necessitates shaving, he must payransom either by fasting or feeding the poor or offering asacrifice. If in peacetime anyone wants to take the advantage ofperforming Umrah and Hajj together, he should make an offeringwhich he can afford; but if he lack the means, let him fast threedays during the Hajj and seven days on his return making ten daysin all. This order is for the one whose household is not in theprecincts of the Sacred Mosque. Fear Allah and know that Allah isstrict in retribution.
Hajj is in the well known months. He who undertakes to perform itmust abstain from husband-wife relationship, obscene language, and wrangling during Hajj. Neither a mother should be madeto suffer on account of her child nor a father on account of hischild. The father's heirs are under the same obligation. But ifwith mutual agreement they both decide to wean the child there isno blame on them. or war shall be declared against you by Allah and His Rasool. Ifyou repent, you may retain your principal, causing no loss todebtor and suffering no loss.
O believers! When you deal with each other in lending for a fixedperiod of time, put it in writing. Let a scribe write it downwith justice between the parties. The scribe, who is given thegift of literacy by Allah, should not refuse to write; he isunder obligation to write. Let him who incurs the liability(debtor) dictate, fearing Allah his Rabb and not diminishinganything from the settlement. If the borrower is mentally unsoundor weak or is unable to dictate himself, let the guardian of hisinterests dictate for him with justice. Let two witnesses fromamong you bear witness to all such documents, if two men cannotbe found, then one man and two women of your choice should bearwitness, so that if one of the women forgets anything the othermay remind her. But if youdisobey ( you will do so at your own risk) for Allah owns allthat is in the Heavens and in the Earth and Allah isSelf-sufficient, Praiseworthy.
O believers! Do not violate the sanctity of the Symbols of Allah:the Sacred Month , the animals brought for sacrifice, thegarlands that mark such animals, and those people visiting theSacred House (Ka'bah) to seek the grace and good pleasure oftheir Rabb. When you put off your Ihram (pilgrimage is over) thenyou are allowed to hunt. Let not the hatred of some people - whoonce hindered you from the Sacred Mosque - incite you to committransgression. When such people areblessed with some benefit, they say: "This is from Allah;" but ifthey suffer a loss, they say: "this is because of you." OMuhammad tell them: "Everything is from Allah." What is thematter with these people that they do not understand a word?

Whoever among you renounce Islam let him do so; soonAllah will replace them with others whom He will love and theywill love Him, who will be humble towards the believers, mightyagainst the unbelievers, striving hard in the way of Allah, andwill have no fear of reproach from any critic. Now this is thegrace of Allah which He bestows on whom He pleases. Allah hasboundless knowledge.

who fear their Rabb though they have not seen Him, and dread theDay of Judgment.
No bearer of a burden will bear another's burden, and if a heavyladen person cries out for help, none will come forward to sharethe least of his burden, even though he be a close relative. OProphet! You can only admonish those who fear their Rabb - thoughthey cannot see Him - and establish Salah. He that purifieshimself does so for his own good. To Allah is the destination ofall.
You can only warn those who follow the reminder and fears theCompassionate (Allah), though they cannot see Him. To such peoplegive good news of forgiveness and a generous reward.
As for those who fear their Rabb, although they have not seenHim, shall have forgiveness and a great reward.
We have included the sacrificial camels among the Symbols ofAllah, for there is much good for you in them. Therefore, pronounce the name of Allah over them while standing, and whenthey fall down on their sides after slaughter, when theirmovement completely stops, then eat of their meat, feed thecontented (poor who do not ask) and the beggars (poor who ask). Thus We have subjected these animals to you so that you may begrateful.
The mothers shall breast-feed their offspring for two whole yearsif the father wishes the breast-feeding to be completed. Thereasonable cost of their maintenance and clothing will be theresponsibility of the child's father. No one should be chargedwith more than they can afford. Neither a mother should be madeto suffer on account of her child nor a father on account of hischild. The father's heirs are under the same obligation. But ifwith mutual agreement they both decide to wean the child there isno blame on them. If you decide to have a foster-mother for youroffspring there is no blame on you provided you pay what you havepromised to pay in an honorable manner. Fear Allah and bewarethat Allah observes your actions.
While he, who will be given his Book of Deeds in his left hand, will say: "Woe to me, would that I had not been given my Book ofDeeds
nor known what my account was!
Would that my death had ended all!
My wealth had availed me nothing,
and my authority has gone away from me."
We shall say: "Seize him and put a chain around his neck,
then cast him in the blazing fire,
then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long.
For he did not believe in Allah, the Most High,
nor did he care to feed the poor.
Today he neither has a true friend here,
nor any food except the pus from the washing of wounds,
which none but the wrongdoers eat."
we did not use to feed the poor,
Yet he does not attempt to tackle the Aqabah (steep path)!
And what will explain to you what the Aqabah is?
It is the freeing of a neck (slave) from bondage;
or the giving of food in a day of famine
to an orphan relative,
or to a needy in distress;
O believers! Turn to Allah in sincere repentance. It may well bethat your Rabb will remove from you your sins and admit you togardens beneath which rivers flow. On that Day Allah will nothumiliate the Prophet and those who believe with him. Their lightwill shine in front of them and on their right, and they willsay: "Our Rabb! Perfect our light for us and grant usforgiveness, for You have power over all things."
O Prophet! Make Jihad (struggle including war) against theunbelievers and the hypocrites and deal sternly with them. Hellshall be their home, and that is an evil abode!
Allah has set an example to the unbelievers in the wife of Nuh(Noah) and the wife of Lut (Lot). They were married to two of Ourrighteous servants, but they betrayed them. In no way could theirhusbands protect them from Allah. Both of them were told: "Enterthe fire, along with those who enter."
And for the believers Allah has set an example in the wife ofFir'on (Pharaoh), who said: "My Rabb! Build for me a house as aspecial favor from You in paradise, deliver me from Fir'on andhis misdeeds, and save me from the wicked nation."
Another example is in the life of Maryam, the daughter of `Imran, who guarded her chastity, and into whose womb We breathed of Ourspirit, who testified to the words of her Rabb, and Hisscriptures, and was one of the obedient.
so that they may witness the benefits which are made availablehere for them, and pronounce the name of Allah over the cattlewhich We have provided as food for them, on the appointed days, then eat meat themselves and feed the indigent and needy.
Allah brought you forth from the wombs of your mothers when youknew nothing, and He gave you hearing, sight and intelligence sothat you may give thanks to Him.
It is Allah Who has given you ears, eyes and hearts - yet seldomyou show gratitude
Say: "It is He Who has brought you into being, gave you thefaculties of hearing, seeing, feeling and understanding: yet youare seldom thankful."
Then after this grief, He bestowed peace on some of you - aslumber which overcame them - while the others were stirred toanxiety by their own fancies, holding unjust and wrong suspicionsabout Allah, the suspicions of ignorance. Now they ask: "Have weany say in the matter?" Tell them: "All matters are in the handsof Allah." They hide in their minds what they dare not reveal toyou. They mean to say: "If we had any say in the matter, none ofus would have been killed here." Say to them: "Even if you hadremained in your homes, those of you who were destined to bekilled would nevertheless have been killed; but it was Allah'swill to test your faith and purge what was in your hearts. Allahhas knowledge of the secrets of your hearts."
O believers! Fulfil your contract obligations. Allfour-legged animals from livestock are lawful to you other thanthose which are hereby announced. However do not violate theprohibition of hunting while you are in Ihram (Hajj dress).Indeed Allah orders whatever He pleases.
Likewise enjoin the believing women to lower their gaze and guardtheir modesty; not to display their beauty and ornaments exceptwhat normally appears thereof; let them draw their veils overtheir bosoms and not display their charms except to theirhusbands, their fathers, their fathers-in-law, their own sons, their stepsons, their own brothers, their nephews on eitherbrothers' or sisters' sides, their own womenfolk, their ownslaves, male attendants who lack sexual desires or small childrenwho have no carnal knowledge of women. Also enjoin them not tostrike their feet in order to draw attention to their hiddentrinkets. And O believers! Turn to Allah in repentance, all ofyou, about your past mistakes, so that you may attain salvation.
Serve Allah and do not commit shirk (associate any partner) withHim, and be good to your parents, kinfolks, orphans, thehelpless, near and far neighbors who keep company with you, thetravellers in need, and the slaves you own. Allah does not lovethose who are arrogant and boastful,
Whenever the news of a female child is announced to any one ofthem, his face darkens and he chokes with inward gloom.
He hides himself from his people because of the bad news he hasheard, asking himself whether he should retain her with disgraceor bury her in the dust. Beware! Evil is the judgement they makeabout Allah.

when the infant girls buried alive (here reference is made to thePre-Islamic Arab custom of burying new born girls alive) will bequestioned
for what sin she was killed;
They regard the angels, who are themselves servants of theCompassionate, as female divinities. Did they witness theircreation? They should know that their testimony shall be noteddown and they shall be called to account for it.
Yet when a new born-girl - the gender that they ascribe to theCompassionate - is announced to one of them, his face darkens andhe is filled with grief.
In regard to inheritance Allah commands you concerning yourchildren: that the share of a boy shall be twice that of a girl.In the case where there are more than two girls, their share willbe two thirds of the estate; but if there is only one girl, hershare will be one half of the estate. If the deceased leftchildren behind, each of the parents shall get one sixth of theestate, but if the deceased left no children and the parents arethe only heirs, the mother shall get one third of the estate, butif the deceased left brothers and sisters, then the mother willget one sixth of it. The distribution in all cases shall be afterfulfilling the terms of the last will and the payment of debts. With regards to your parents and your children, you do not knowwho is more beneficial to you, therefore, Allah issued thisordinance. Surely Allah is the Knowledgeable, Wise.
They ask you for a legal decision relating to inheritance in thecase of a childless person. Say: Allah gives you His decisionabout those who leave no descendants or ascendants as heirs. If aman dies childless and leaves behind a sister, she shall inheritone-half of his estate. If a woman dies childless, her brotherwill inherit all of her estate. If the childless person leavesbehind two sisters, they both shall inherit two-third of hisestate; but if he leaves more than two brothers and sisters, theshare of each male shall be equal to that of two females. ThusAllah makes His commandments clear to you lest you go astray.Allah has perfect knowledge of everything.
You shall not kill your children for fear of want, for it is WeWho provide sustenance for them as well as for you; surelykilling them is a great blunder.
By the fig and by the olive,
Fight in the cause of Allah with those who fight against you, butdo not exceed the limits. Allah does not like transgressors.
Therefore, O Muhammad, fight; in the path of Allah, you areaccountable for no one except for yourself. Urge the believers tofight, it may be that Allah will overthrow the might of theunbelievers, for Allah is the strongest in might and severe inpunishment.
Fighting has been made obligatory for you, much to your dislike. It is quite possible that something which you don't like is goodfor you and that something which you love is bad for you. Allahknows, and you do not.
O believers, fight in the path of Allah without fear of death andbear in mind that Allah hears and knows everything.
They ask you about war in the Sacred Month. Tell them: "fightingin this month is a heinous offence; but to prevent from the pathof Allah, to deny Him, to prevent access and expel Hisworshippers from the Sacred Mosque is a more severe crime, sincemischief is worse than killing in His sight. As for unbelievers:they will not cease fighting until they succeed in turning youback from your religion if they can; and if any of you turns backfrom his religion and dies as an unbeliever, his deeds willbecome void in this life and in the hereafter. He will be theinmate of hellfire, to live in there forever.
Have you not reflected on what the leaders of the children ofIsrael demanded from one of their Prophets after the death ofMusa (Moses)? "Appoint for us a king," they said, "and we willfight in the cause of Allah." The Prophet replied: "What if yourefuse to fight when you are ordered to do so?" They replied,"How could we refuse to fight in the cause of Allah, while wealong with our children were driven out of our homes?" But when,on their demand, they were ordered to fight, all refused except afew of them. Allah knows the evildoers.
Let it be known that only those people should fight in the causeof Allah who are willing to exchange the life of this world forthe Hereafter; and whoever fights for the cause of Allah, whetherhe dies or is victorious, will soon be granted a mighty reward.
O believers, fight them until there is no more mischief and theDeen of Allah (way of life prescribed by Allah) is establishedcompletely; but if they do stop from mischief, then surely Allahis observant of all their actions.
When the forbidden months (10,11,12 & 1 of the Islamic calendar) are over, then fight the mushrikïn wherever you find them, seize them, besiege them, and lie in ambush for them in every stratagem of war, but if they repent, establish Salah and pay Zakah, then let them go their way: surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
But if they violate their treaty once they have sworn it andinsult your Deen, then fight with the ringleaders of the unbelief- for their oaths are nothing to them - so that they may bestopped.
Fight those people of the Book (Jews and Christians) who do notbelieve in Allah and the Last Day, do not refrain from what hasbeen prohibited by Allah and His Rasool and do not embrace thereligion of truth (Al-Islam), until they pay Jizya (protectiontax) with their own hands and feel themselves subdued.
O believers! Fight the unbelievers who hem you in, to let themknow how tough you are; you should know that Allah is on the sideof the Godfearing.
Permission to fight back is hereby granted to the believersagainst whom war is waged and because they are oppressed (beforethis revelation, Muslims were not allowed to fight even for selfdefence); certainly Allah has power to grant them victory
Therefore, when you meet the unbelievers in the battlefield smitetheir necks and, when you have thoroughly subdued them, then takeprisoners of war and bind them firmly. After the war lay down herburdens, then you have the choice whether you show them favor oraccept ransom. Thus are you commanded. If Allah wanted, HeHimself could have punished them; but He adopted this way so thatHe may test some of you by means of others. As for those who areslain in the cause of Allah, He will never let their deeds belost.
There is no blame on the blind, the lame, and the sick if theystay behind. He that obeys Allah and His Rasool shall be admittedto gardens beneath which the rivers flow, and he that turns awayshall be punished with a painful punishment.
If two parties among the believers fall into mutual fighting, make peace between them. Then if one of them transgresses againstthe other, fight the one who has transgressed until he returns tothe commands of Allah. Then, if he returns, make peace betweenthem with justice and be fair; for Allah loves those who are fairand just.
And what reason do you have not to fight in the cause of Allah,to rescue the helpless oppressed old men, women, and children whoare crying: "Our Rabb! Deliver us from this town whose people areoppressors; send us a protector by Your grace and send us ahelper from Your presence?"
But if they violate their treaty once they have sworn it andinsult your Deen, then fight with the ringleaders of the unbelief- for their oaths are nothing to them - so that they may bestopped.
O believers, fight them until there is no more mischief and theDeen of Allah (way of life prescribed by Allah) is establishedcompletely; but if they do stop from mischief, then surely Allahis observant of all their actions.
If they give no heed, then you should know that Allah is yourprotector. He is the best to protect and the best to help.
But if they violate their treaty once they have sworn it andinsult your Deen, then fight with the ringleaders of the unbelief- for their oaths are nothing to them - so that they may bestopped.
Will you not fight against those people who have broken theiroaths, conspired to expel the Rasool and were the first to attackyou? Do you fear them? Nay, it is Allah Who is more deserving ofyour fear, if you are true believers.
Fight them; Allah will punish them by your hands and humiliatethem. He will grant you victory over them and soothe the heartsof a believing people.
He will take away all rancor from their hearts. Allah shows mercyto whom He pleases, and Allah is All-Knowledgeable, All-Wise.
Do you think that you will be left alone (without trial)? WhileAllah has not yet demonstrated which of you had exerted yourutmost struggle (in the path of Allah) and did not take anyintimate friends other than Allah, His Rasool and the believers?Allah is well aware of all your actions.
O believers! Fight the unbelievers who hem you in, to let themknow how tough you are; you should know that Allah is on the sideof the Godfearing.
O Prophet! Allah is all-sufficient for you and for the believerswho follow you.
And what reason do you have not to fight in the cause of Allah,to rescue the helpless oppressed old men, women, and children whoare crying: "Our Rabb! Deliver us from this town whose people areoppressors; send us a protector by Your grace and send us ahelper from Your presence?"
Permission to fight back is hereby granted to the believersagainst whom war is waged and because they are oppressed (beforethis revelation, Muslims were not allowed to fight even for selfdefence); certainly Allah has power to grant them victory
- those who have been unjustly expelled from their homes onlybecause they said, "Our Lord is Allah." Had not Allah repelledsome people by the might of others, the monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques in which Allah's praise is dailycelebrated, would have been utterly demolished. Allah willcertainly help those who help His cause; most surely Allah isMighty, Powerful.

You are the best nation which has ever been raised for theguidance of mankind. You enjoin good, forbid evil, and believe inAllah. Had the People of the Book (Jews and Christians) believed,it would surely have been better for them; among them some arebelievers but most of them are transgressors.
Kill them wherever they confront you in combat and drive them outof the places from which they have driven you. Though killing isbad, creating mischief is worse than killing. Do not fight themwithin the precincts of the Sacred Mosque unless they attack youthere; but if they attack you put them to the sword; that is thepunishment for such unbelievers.
If they cease hostility, then surely Allah is Forgiving,Merciful.
Fight against them until there is no more disorder and Allah'ssupremacy is established. If they desist, let there be nohostility except against the oppressors.

Fight in the cause of Allah with those who fight against you, butdo not exceed the limits. Allah does not like transgressors.

The Sacred month, in which fighting is prohibited, is to berespected if the same is respected by the enemy: sacred thingstoo are subject to retaliation. Therefore, if anyone transgressesa prohibition and attacks you, retaliate with the same force.Fear Allah, and bear in mind that Allah is with the righteous.
Surely those who are believers, and migrated and struggled in thepath of Allah, they can hope for the mercy of Allah; and Allah isForgiving, Merciful."
O believers, fight in the path of Allah without fear of death andbear in mind that Allah hears and knows everything.
Do you think that you will enter paradise without going throughthe trial? Allah has not yet tested you to see who among youstrive hard for His cause and who show patience for His sake.
So their Rabb answers their prayers, saying: " I will not let thegood deed of any worker among you, whether a male or a female, bewasted. You are the offspring of one another. Those who had toleave their homes or were expelled therefrom, and those whosuffered persecution for My sake and fought and were killed: Iwill forgive them their sins and admit them into gardens beneathwhich the rivers flow; a prize from Allah, and Allah holds thefinest prize!"
And what reason do you have not to fight in the cause of Allah,to rescue the helpless oppressed old men, women, and children whoare crying: "Our Rabb! Deliver us from this town whose people areoppressors; send us a protector by Your grace and send us ahelper from Your presence?"
Those who are believers fight in the cause of Allah and those whoare unbelievers fight in the cause of Taghut (forces of Shaitan):so fight against the helpers of Shaitan; surely, Shaitan's craftyschemes are very weak.
Have you not seen those who were told to restrain their handsfrom fighting, establish Salah (regular prayers) and pay Zakah(regular charity). Now when at length they are commanded tofight, lo! A group of them fear people as they should have fearedAllah, or even more than that, and say: "Our Rabb! Why have Youordered us to fight? Could you delay its implementation for awhile?" Tell them: "The enjoyment of this worldly life is short, life of the hereafter is much better for those who fear Allah, and rest assured that you will not be wronged equal to the fiberof a date-stone.
Therefore, O Muhammad, fight; in the path of Allah, you areaccountable for no one except for yourself. Urge the believers tofight, it may be that Allah will overthrow the might of theunbelievers, for Allah is the strongest in might and severe inpunishment.
O believers!
Indeed Allah has purchased from the believers their persons andtheir wealth and in return has promised them paradise; they fightin the cause of Allah and slay and are slain. This is a truepromise which is binding on Him mentioned in Taurat (Torah), theInjeel (Gospel) and the Qur'an; and who is more true infulfilling his promise than Allah? Rejoice, therefore, in thebargain which you have made, and that is a mighty achievement.
What is the matter with you that you do not spend in the Way ofAllah, whereas to Allah belongs the inheritance of the heavensand the earth? Those of you who spent and fought in the Cause ofAllah before the victory, shall receive higher ranks of honorthan the others who spent and fought thereafter. Yet Allah haspromised you all a good reward, and Allah is aware of all youractions.
Indeed Allah loves those who fight for His Cause in battle arrayas if they were a solid wall.
