Qur’an Al-Muminun (23:27)

Thereupon We inspired him thus: "Build, un-der Our eyes12 and according to Our inspiration, the ark [that shall save thee and those who follow thee].13 And when Our judgment comes to pass, and waters gush forth in torrents over the face of the earth, place on board of this [ark] one pair of each [kind of animal] of either sex, as well as thy family - excepting those on whom sentence has already been passed-; and do not appeal to Me [any more] in behalf of those who are bent on evildoing - for, behold, they are destined to be drowned!
  - Mohammad Asad

I.e., "under Our protection".

Regarding this interpolation, see surah {11}, note [60]. For an explanation of the passage that follows, see 11:40 and the corresponding notes [62-64]. The reason for the (abbreviated) repetition of Noah's story - given in much greater detail in {11:25-48}- becomes evident from verse {29).

So We revealed Our will to him, saying: "Build an ark under our supervision according to Our instructions; and when Our judgement comes to pass and water wells out from 'At-Tannur', take aboard a pair (a male and a female) from every species and take your family, except those of them against whom the judgement has already been passed; and do not plead with Me in favor of the wrongdoers, for they are doomed to be drowned in the flood.
  - Muhammad Farooq-i-Azam Malik
Muhammad Farooq-i-Azam Malik
So We inspired him: 'Build the Ark under Our 'watchful' Eyes and directions. Then when Our command comes and the oven bursts 'with water',1 take on board a pair from every species along with your family- except those against whom the decree 'to drown' has already been passed. And do not plead with Me for those who have done wrong, for they will surely be drowned.'

Noah was given a signal that once the water gushes out of a particular oven then the Flood is about to begin. It can also be translated as: “The fountains of the earth gushed forth.”

Then We inspired in him, saying: Make the ship under Our eyes and Our inspiration. Then, when Our command cometh and the oven gusheth water, introduce therein of every (kind ) two spouses, and thy household save him thereof against whom the Word hath already gone forth. And plead not with Me on behalf of those who have done wrong: Lo! they will be drowned.
  - Marmaduke Pickthall

So We inspired him (with this message): "Construct the Ark within Our sight and under Our guidance: then when comes Our command and the fountains of the earth gush forth take thou on board pairs of every species male and female and thy family except those of them against whom the Word has already gone forth: and address Me not in favor of the wrongdoers; for they shall be drowned (in the Flood). 2887 2888 2889 2890
