وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِٱلْأُنثَىٰ ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُۥ مُسْوَدًّا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ Qur’an An-Nahl (16:58)

Wai tha bushshira a h aduhum bi a lonth a th alla wajhuhu muswaddan wahuwa ka th eem un

for, whenever any of them is given the glad tiding of [the birth of] a girl,⁶⁵ his face darkens, and he is filled with suppressed anger,
